Cloud Engineer (Clearance Required)
Overview
LMI is seeking a cloud engineer to perform information technology related requirements as part of an integrated team supporting for the Department of Defense, United States Transportation Command. The position requires proficiency in AWS services with a focus on CDK, Typescript, and JavaScript. Work will be performed at Scott AFB, IL and in the vicinity of O’Fallon, IL.

Responsibilities
The Cloud engineer will be responsible to provide support via:
* Design, Develop, and maintain scalable applications using AWS services with a focus on CDK, Typescript, and JavaScript
* Utilize GitLab to implement and manage CI/CD pipelines for automation and streamlined
* Work independently to optimize applications are secure, performant, and scalable
* Collaborate with client teams with clear communications and technical expertise
* Ensure compliance with security best practices in AWS environments, with a focus on FIPS
* Containerize and orchestrate applications using Docker and Kubernetes (EKS)
* Provide direct and independent support to clients
* Maintain and manage source control with GitLab, with best practices for collaborative development
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Experience will determine roll on task. Cloud Engineer Level 2 requires 2+ years of related professional experience. Level 3 requires 3+ years of related experience.
- Must hold an active Secret clearance granted by the US Government/DoD.
- Must hold an active CompTIA Security+ or a comparable IAT/IAM II/III certification.
- Must hold an active AWS-specific certification.
- Familiarity with AWS GovCloud or other Government Cloud environments.
- Proficiency with AWS Command Line Interface (CLI) and knowledge of AWS products, services, best practices, and troubleshooting.
- Demonstrated ability with one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, Ruby).
- Experience with API Development with the ability to design, build, and maintain APIs, including defining API requirements.
- Proficiency in creating API documentation and managing API gateways.
- Familiarity with MS SQL and MySQL development, including data modeling, concurrency, stored procedure development, and performance tuning.
- Experience in securing and authenticating APIs, ensuring compliance with security protocols.
- Must exhibit a strong drive for independent learning and staying updated on technical advancements.
- Must be able to work effectively independently or within a small team setting.
Preferred qualifications:
- Hands-on experience with multi-cloud networking and hybrid cloud environments, including seamless integration of physical network infrastructure in platforms like Microsoft Azure and AWS.
- Proven experience configuring, managing, and administering network firewall security platforms.
- Skilled in developing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and CI/CD pipelines to automate and optimize enterprise cloud environments.
- Proficiency with monitoring, diagnostic, and network analytic tools.
- Proficiency configuring, securing, and hardening networking devices, such as firewalls, switches, and routers, in compliance with DoD standards.
