Donor Family Aftercare Coordinator

DonorConnect is seeking a full-time Donor Family Aftercare Coordinator. The Aftercare Coordinator is vital in supporting donor families and the Donor Family Services department. The Aftercare Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting the Donor Family Services (DFS) team and the Aftercare Supervisor. You will be responsible for responding to the DFS email account, memorial monument submission forms, and tissue outcome letters. The Aftercare Coordinator will maintain the DFS bulletin board, maintain DFS inventory levels, participate in weekly meetings, and support the volunteer program. Additionally, you will maintain the Facebook Support Group, DFS Newsletter, and assist with the departmental budget. The Aftercare Coordinator will create creative marketing materials for the department, disburse surveys, and support the Celebration of Life Monument Ceremony or other events. You will accurately maintain databases, generate organ, tissue, and ANR letters, and provide recipient outcome information. Finally, you will provide bereavement support, donor family/recipient correspondence, and assist with grief support groups as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Training/Education/Certification:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Must complete grief support certification within a year upon hire

Experience Required:

  • Minimum two years of administrative assistant experience
  • Minimum three years of computer and internet application experience
  • Interest in social services is beneficial

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Utilizes and displays strong communication skills such as empathy, support, and compassion with donor families.
  • Knowledge of organ and tissue donation preferred
  • Advanced level of sensitivity in providing emotional support to grieving families
  • Knowledge of current computer applications
  • Understanding of basic internet functions
  • Well-organized, accurate, and attentive to detail
  • Excellent communication and public relations skills
  • Flexible, willingness to assist others
  • Able to work well under stress
  • Sensitive with the ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Able to work well independently and prioritize work
  • Ability to resolve problematic situations quickly
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to move up to 10 pounds at times with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to reason logically and make sound decisions, to consider alternative and diverse perspectives, to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
