Position Overview
Veolia is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Operations Manager to lead the assembly operations for water filtration membrane equipment and mobile systems at our Norfolk, VA plant.
This role is critical to our growth strategy, requiring a senior leader with a proven track record in manufacturing excellence, process optimization, and team leadership.
The Assembly Operation Leader will be instrumental in taking our assembly site to the next level in terms of operational efficiency, quality, cost management, and timely delivery.

Key Responsibilities
• Strategic Leadership : Develop and implement an assembly strategy that aligns with company goals, ensuring continuous improvement in organizational structure, quality standards, cost control, and on-time delivery.
• Operational Excellence : Drive KPIs for assembly, including safety, sustainability, financial performance, and operational efficiency. Implement and monitor key metrics to ensure targets are met or exceeded.
• Process Optimization : Characterize, improve, and develop manufacturing processes for both existing and new products, ensuring a seamless transition from inputs to outputs. Utilize Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other industry best practices to streamline operations and reduce waste.
• Team Development : Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing assembly team. Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning.
• Stakeholder Collaboration : Effectively interface with cross-functional teams, including
manufacturing, technology, quality, maintenance, sales, and marketing. Ensure alignment of efforts to meet EHS, quality, cost savings, production, and new product development goals within the established schedule and budget.
• Innovation and Continuous Improvement : Bring new ideas and provide positive support to evaluate and improve current processes. Drive the adoption of innovative practices and
technologies to enhance assembly operations.

• Risk Management : Identify potential risks within the assembly process and implement
strategies to mitigate them. Ensure compliance with all regulatory and company standards, particularly in safety and environmental health.
• Resource Planning : Oversee resource allocation, including budgeting, staffing, and material procurement, to ensure assembly operations are adequately supported and able to meet production demands.

Qualifications

Qualifications
• Experience : Minimum of 7-10 years of leadership experience in manufacturing, with a strong background in assembly operations. Experience in the water filtration or similar industry is a plus.
• Education : Bachelor's Degree in Chemical, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution. An advanced degree (e.g., MBA, Master's in Engineering) is highly desirable.
• Technical Expertise : Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt
preferred), and statistical analysis tools for process improvement. SAP experience is highly
preferred.
• Leadership Skills : Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire teams, drive change, and deliver results in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Communication : Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and effectively to diverse audiences, including senior management and frontline workers.
• Problem Solving : Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify root causes, develop
solutions, and implement them effectively.
• Autonomy : Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, taking initiative to drive
projects and improvements forward.
