Portfolio Manager (Seattle, WA)

As a Portfolio Manager you will:

Provide specialized services to an individual Financial Advisor (with annualized gross production of greater than $1 million) or Baird Qualified Team (BQT) (with average per FA production of at least $750,000) to assist in their ability to offer sophisticated financial solutions to individuals and families and strategically build the client base. You will also:

• Operate within the team's client service strategy to ensure high quality client service.
• Engage the client/prospect, frame the discussion, and help convey the team mission to better position the Advisor for additional business opportunities.
• May provide direction to Client Specialists on the team regarding routine tasks and daily responsibilities.
• Guide the investment decision process by analyzing existing and potential opportunities and aiding in performance analysis and reporting functions.
• Create asset allocation studies utilizing data collected in the client profiling process.
• Ensure knowledge of entire investment solution suite and recommend investment solutions to the Financial Advisor or for client use based upon clients' needs and constraints.
• Monitor portfolios and implement portfolio changes.
• Prepare client reports for institutional and high net worth clients.
• Manage the account set up process and ensure timely investment of funds.
• Prepare and maintain models and trade activity history.
• Review account performance for accuracy and/or calculation adjustments.
• Aggregate firm holdings for review and monitoring.
• Preview incoming/existing client policy statements.
• Trade review: cash variances, limit orders, security activity.
• Assist in investment of daily cash flows.
• Specific designation required: CIMA or CPWA within 12 months of assuming the role.
• Provide Financial Advisors with quantitative specific analysis, including domestic and international equity, domestic fixed income, real estate, etc. (e.g. providing PIM Financial Advisors with investment analysis for clients' portfolios).
• Assist PIM Financial Advisors in the preparation of quarterly commentary.
• Conduct due diligence on investment managers and analyze client portfolios and recommend rebalancing, re-allocation as appropriate.
• Offer investment ideas based on team guidelines and asset allocation strategies tailored to the risk profile and investment objectives of the team's clients.
• Specific designations: CIMA, CPWA, CFA, CPA designation(s), as appropriate, within 12 months of assuming the role.

What we look for:

• Must have an undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or equivalent.
• Must have or be capable of and committed to pursuing and achieving specialized professional designations (i.e., CFA) or higher level education equivalent within a designated, specified period of time after assuming the role, depending on specialized area of emphasis, as appropriate.
• Series 7/66 required and other licenses, as appropriate.
• Minimum of three years of investment experience in a client facing role.
• Excellent presentation skills, very strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Proven self-starter, highly motivated, with the ability to work independently.
