As an academic operations manager, you will be instrumental in ensuring that academic departments meet deadlines and requirements and in facilitating implementation of new initiatives. You will contribute to the alignment of departmental operations with the university's mission, vision, strategic plan, and priorities. You will also manage the use and presentation of assigned schools' academic spaces for Operation 360, SCAD Days, and special events, and maintain a frequent, visible presence in the buildings of assigned departments. You will collaborate with various university departments to prepare research and provide on-ground support for high-profile activities like SCAD signature events, commencement, and more.

In this position, you will provide quality assurance and editorial support for university reports, presentations, and policies. You will also facilitate mentor and invited guest programs, faculty-led workshops and award programs, and other high-level university initiatives. You will establish quality control mechanisms to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness within assigned departments, especially regarding event support requests, school-based project management, and quarterly documentation. You will ensure compliance with university administrative policies and procedures as well.

As an academic operations manager, your responsibilities will include coordinating faculty observations with leadership and attending departmental, school, and academic operational meetings. You will also play a key role in the faculty recruitment process, participating in teaching presentations, and advising the recruiting team on the potential fit of candidates. You will analyze operations to identify opportunities for improvement and propose enhancement solutions and will prepare and present reports for academic leadership.

The successful candidate will have excellent planning, organizational, and communication skills. Solid writing, analytical, and problem-solving skills are also a must. The candidate should demonstrate excellent attention to detail and accuracy, expertise in computer applications and databases, and an ability to multitask and manage deadlines.

Minimum Qualifications:      

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Three to five years of relevant experience

Certificates, licenses, and registrations:  

  • Valid driver’s license

Travel Required:  

  •   Less than 10%

Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
