Assistant Professor in Quantum Science
The Department of Physics at The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) is seeking applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the area of Quantum Science, broadly defined, including but not limited to quantum computing, quantum information, quantum communication, quantum material, quantum sensing, and quantum optics. Applicants in all areas of experimental and theoretical quantum science are encouraged to apply.
Job Requirements:
Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in Physics or a related STEM field, possess postdoctoral experience, have a strong record of research accomplishments, and possess strong verbal and written communication skills. The successful candidate will have demonstrated attention to promoting STEM education and research opportunities to pre-college, college and graduate students, should be able to establish and maintain an independent research program at UTEP that complements the existing research in the department, teach at both undergraduate and graduate levels, perform service to the Department, College and University, and engage in outreach activities. The new hire will be a core faculty of the Physics Graduate Program and instrumental in expanding the Quantum Science research in the Department of Physics. The university has committed to support of this position with generous start-up funds appropriate to support the candidate's success in research.
