Code Enforcement Officer I, II, or III

The Code Enforcement Officer I,II,III performs responsible technical work enforcing the zoning ordinance and in managing and administering the local ordinance enforcement program pertaining to public nuisances and local code violations. Enforces minimum housing code for the Business and Community Development department.
 


Minimum Qualifications: Code Enforcement Officer I

  • Graduation from high school or GED
  • Valid NC driver’s license and good driving record
     
  • Ability to obtain NC Housing Code Official Certificate within 12 months of hire

Minimum Qualifications: Code Enforcement Officer II

  • Graduation from high school or GED
  • Two years’ experience in code enforcement
  • NC Housing Code Official Certificate
  • Zoning Official Certificate
  • Valid NC driver’s license and good driving record
     
  • Ability to obtain Level I Building Certificate within 18 months of hire

Minimum Qualifications: Code Enforcement Officer III

  • Graduation from high school or GED
  • Five years’ experience in code enforcement
  • NC Housing Code Official Certificate
  • Building Level I Certificate
  • Zoning Official Certificate
     
  • Valid NC driver’s license and good driving record

Work Schedule
Monday-Friday; 7:30am-4:30pm and after hours as needed.
