​NASCAR seeks a talented professional to join in the position of Competition Technology Operator Technician.

The CompetitionTechnology Operator Technician is responsible for supporting Timing and Scoring operations by setting up, operating, and monitoring Race Control equipment; scoring equipment, cameras; and decoder network.  In addition to unpacking and distributing radios and scoring equipment on a weekly basis.  

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Assist with set-up and tear-down of Competition Technology equipment when travel permits.
  • Verify and update all scoring programs on computers.
  • Performs routine maintenance on systems.
  • Set up the scoring/decoder network.
  • Input competitor data for practice, qualifying and race.
  • Assign and distribute scoring equipment.
  • Repairs cables 
  • Assist in the collection, distribution and verification of scoring documentation.
  • Monitor the scoring system during testing, practice sessions, qualifying and races.
  • Assign radios and distribute weekend event list.
  • Conduct qualifying draws and distribute reports.
  • Set up and operate camera system during qualifying and races.
  • Assist Chief Scorer, Chief Scorer, and Race Director as needed.
  • Approximate travel:  90%, including weekends

Required skills/experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient in all Company software and hardware.
  • Drivers License.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work outdoors in changing weather conditions.
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, in alignment with the race schedule and event calendar.
  • Dependable and punctual, with a commitment to fulfilling assigned shifts and responsibilities according to the race schedule and event calendar.
