Director of Transportation and Parking Services
As a director of transportation and parking services, you will collaborate with university stakeholders and other partners to develop and implement the department's strategic plan. You will consider innovative programs for parking management, active transportation, and transit-oriented transportation. You will direct daily business operations, including the SafeRide program, and oversee the university transportation vendor. You will also implement equipment, tools, practices, and systems to ensure efficient customer service and a positive student experience. Among other duties, you will manage programs and services to facilitate the use of alternative modes of transportation, ensure all programs are appropriately marketed for maximum access, and develop the annual parking and transportation budget.
The successful candidate demonstrates excellent communication and collaborative relationship-building skills. The candidate should have a thorough understanding of technical security systems, product innovation, and industry trends, as well as strong knowledge of relevant compliance requirements, including those detailed in the Clery Act, Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), and Title IX policies. The candidate must also possess the high-level analytical and leadership abilities to oversee parking and transportation operations for large events.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- At least three years of management experience in parking or transit professions
- Experience in applying best practices to SCAD parking and transportation programs
- Experience reviewing maintenance requirements of surface and structured parking and recommending repairs
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, emergency management, criminal justice, or a related field
- At least 10 years in senior security or law enforcement
- Experience conducting risk assessments and investigations, threat management, security technology integration, and predictive analyses
Certificates, licenses, and registrations:
- Valid driver’s license
- Acceptance as a SCAD authorized driver
Travel Required:
- 10–20%
Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
