Job Summary
The Facilities Management Healthcare Director:
- Provides the administrative leadership required to support the Executive Director for Facilities Management Healthcare in planning and implementing projects in collaboration with UK HealthCare and Medical Center strategic initiatives
- Participates, as required, in providing leadership with information needed to define organizational goals, critical issues, and strategic plans
- Actively assists in developing and administering comprehensive policies, procedures, and initiatives in support of the University, UK HealthCare, Medical Center, and Facilities Management Administration
- Identifies, recommends, and implements plans as authorized to optimize energy systems and equipment operations in UK HealthCare and Medical Center facilities
- Supports the Executive Director for Facilities Management Healthcare in overseeing functional areas of Facilities Management Medical Center, including:
- Maintenance and Operations
- Compliance
- Administration
- Trucking Services
- Directs and leads a management team, as assigned, with an emphasis on developing existing and future talent, mentoring, and inspiring staff to succeed
In addition, this position:
- Assists the Executive Director for Facilities Management Healthcare in developing, administering, and managing, the annual multi-million dollar Facilities Management Medical Center Budget
- Participates, as required, in engineering and design projects for construction via internal and/or external source contractors
- Monitors assigned budgets for construction and renovation projects to ensure appropriate expenditure of funds and maintenance of cost data
- Assists and supports on-site management with identifying and implementing cost reduction opportunities
- Works effectively with management and staff to drive business innovation, service strategies, revenue growth, and continuous improvement processes to ensure service excellence
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
MS Windows;SAP;KRONOS; Principles of Accounting; Business Procedures, Practices, and Policies.
Experience in facilities management healthcare and medical center environment; preventative maintenance, and hospital operations; Demonstrated ability to implement strategic initiatives, foster a service oriented environment, build relationships, and manage maintenance teams.
Knowledge of Safety and Environmental Compliance Statutes; Building and Construction Codes, Systems, Automation, and Maintenance.
Knowledge and experience with The Joint Commission.
