Job Description
The Operations Manager is a key role within the organization that will manage manufacturing and production of chemical products as well as lead the production team. The successful
candidate will have visibility across many functional groups (engineering, operations,
maintenance, etc.) and will continuously drive to optimize efficiency, reliability, safety,
environmental compliance, and cost.
Job Responsibilities:
- Accountable for all aspects pertaining to production, product quality, and leadership of the Production Team.
- Support all Environmental, Health, and Safety programs, policies, and regulations.
- Monitor and improve production rates, product quality, and overall efficiency.
- Optimize the production scheduling process across all shifts.
- Continuously make key decisions to improve process efficiencies regarding EHS, Quality and Productivity.
- Interfaces with design, process, R&D, Maintenance and Quality teams to solve problems.
- Implement cost reductions and yield improvements.
- Perform various aspects of chemical process engineering.
- Assist operations in technical training to develop operations team on technical aspects of process and equipment.
- Network with other engineers both internally and externally to leverage and share plant improvement.
- Analyze data and work processes to identify root causes of defects and implement appropriate corrective actions.

Qualifications
Desired Characteristics:
- Concentrated "Shop Floor Presence" working with the Production Team.
- Demonstrated knowledge and commitment to Process Safety Management (PSM)
- Knowledge of ISO / quality procedures
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Six Sigma or LEAN Manufacturing experience a plus
- Ability to make data driven decisions
- Knowledge of safety regulations
- Strong background in the interpretation of engineering drawings / specifications and manufacturing processes
- Strong organizational skills with a high attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple assignments
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an accredited university (preferred)
- An individual with an associate degree and significant batch production / chemical blending experience could be a successful candidate
Qualifications:
- Minimum of five (5) years' experience in a chemical production environment with demonstrated ability to lead people and improvement efforts

- 50% On the shop floor, optimizing production, quality and EHS performance
- 30% People Management (Hiring, Performance Reviews, Overtime Management, Employee PTO Tracking)
- 20% Administration, meetings, etc.
