You will meet all responsibilities and expectations outlined in the SCAD Faculty Handbook, which include coursework prep, syllabus design and approval, office hours and midterm grade reviews, and more. You will be responsible for providing students with extra help sessions, extended learning opportunities, and field trips outside of regular class hours. Professors are required to fulfill teaching assignments as determined by contact hours and as outlined in the Employment Agreement.

In this role, you will model professionalism, fulfill all grading and academic documentation requirements, and record attendance. You will follow academic policies and regulations and aid all academic assessment and institutional effectiveness efforts. On occasion, you will also support department and university-wide initiatives by attending on-ground and virtual events such as faculty councils, admission activities, accreditation support, curriculum development, and exhibitions, among other duties.

Minimum Qualifications:      

  • Degree in themed entertainment or a related field
  • Academic and professional credentials to teach in themed entertainment
  • Experience in or knowledge of related professions

Preferred Qualifications:      

  • Teaching experience at the collegiate level
  • Live entertainment skills
  • Strong vision about the future of the industry
  • Experience as a Creative Director, Project Manager, Producer, or Show Set Designer

Travel Required:  

  •   10–20%
