The Oregon State Hospital (OSH) is expanding our Performance Improvement team and seeking a Performance Improvement Analyst on a Limited Duration basis (19 months) to join us on our journey towards operational excellence. The Performance Improvement team is comprised of 14 Performance Improvement staff and 1 Director.
Work Location/Schedule: Oregon State Hospital, Salem Campus/Hybrid work schedule: depending on assignment, between 20% and 30% of work can be performed remotely. This position is supporting a 24/7 facility.
This is a full-time, limited duration, 19 month, management service position and not represented by a union.

What you will do!
As a Performance Improvement Analyst (PIA), you will act as an operation and policy advisor to executive level leadership and management to guide continuous improvement practices and strategy. Application of continuous improvement efforts have high visibility and large-scale effect on operational and organizational improvements. In addition, as a performance improvement analyst you will be responsible for evaluating current program operations, researching trends, and making effective recommendations to upper-level management. These positions will evaluate programs and operational data to formulate and develop policies, procedures, and systems with the goal of ultimately making the Oregon State Hospital a world-class organization. These positions will develop long, and short-range goals and objectives related to initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, and closing projects and initiatives.
Organizational improvement and organizational process re-engineering projects are led by the Performance Improvement Team. These projects are sponsored by and report to the OSH Executive Team. The Performance Improvement Team acts as operation and policy advisors to leadership and management to guide continuous improvement practices and strategy.
As the Performance Improvement Analyst, some of your duties will include:

What we are looking for:
Minimum Requirements
A Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration, Behavioral or Social Sciences, Finance, Political Science or any degree demonstrating the capacity for the knowledge and skills ANDfour years professional-level evaluative, analytical and planning work.
OR
Any combination of experience and education equivalent to seven years of experience that typically supports the knowledge and skills for the classification.
Desired knowledge, skills and certifications:
- Demonstrated understanding and application of Lean methodology and Lean implementation in Hospitals and Healthcare-Lean Green belt or above.
- Theory, principles and practices of organizational change management-Prosci Change Management certification desired.
- Project management-OPMA or PMP desired.
- Demonstrated skill in Executive and Management Coaching.
- Strong organizational skills, specifically leading organizations in strategic operational development initiatives.
- Understanding and application of high-performance team building strategies.
- Strong leadership skills related to continuous improvement.
- Theory, principles, and practices of organizational behavior, analysis, and evaluation.
- Techniques for disseminating communication throughout organizations, obtaining buy-in, and facilitating business transition and change management.
- Facilitate large-and small-scale improvement events with diverse partners.
- Identify measures or indicators of system performance and the actions needed to improve or correct performance, relative to the goals of the system.
- Develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work.
- Use logic or reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions.
- Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintain them over time.
