Physical Requirements
This position requires intermittently sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time; and performing tasks with repetitive motions (such as typing); and occasionally standing or walking with objects weighing up to 10 pounds; and lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Also involves some exposure to risk of injury from moving, lifting, or positioning patients, equipment, or materials; and exposure to hazardous chemicals and fumes including waste, cuts/punctures, and blood-borne or airborne pathogens.

Job Summary
UK HealthCare is seeking a highly-motivated full-time pharmacist for an ambulatory clinical pharmacist position with the nephrology and bone mineral metabolism clinics at UK HealthCare in Lexington, Kentucky. This position will support and work with the current nephrology and bone mineral metabolism pharmacists to expand services in the clinics.
The pharmacist will work as part of a multidisciplinary team of providers, fellows, residents, and nurses in the clinic setting providing comprehensive care for patients who have chronic kidney disease, acute kidney injury, resistant hypertension, osteoporosis and other related diseases. Services include, but are not limited to, titration and optimization of medication regimens, lab and side effect monitoring, and providing patient education and drug information. This position will also provide educational services to pharmacy students, residents, pharmacists, physicians, and nurses through precepting and in-service presentations. The pharmacist will be expected to have or be willing to obtain board certification in the area of practice, and contribute to the goals of the enterprise.
The starting pay for this position was recently adjusted. The minimum salary for this position will now be $104,697/year. All pay rates will be based on candidate’s experience.

Strong clinical skills; knowledge of inpatient drug distribution and dispensing; ability to prioritize; excellent communication skills; team mentality; desire to teach; and motivation are required to excel in this position.

PharmD and ASHP PGY1 residency and/or PGY2 specialty residency preferred.
