Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Procurement Intern to join our dynamic team. This internship will focus on plant operational expenditure (OPEX) procurement, providing a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field of procurement within an industrial
setting.

*This will be a full-time, 6-month internship, expected to begin in January 2025.*
Responsibilities:
  • Help track and analyze plant OPEX spending patterns and identify potential cost-saving opportunities
  • Assist in the procurement process for plant OPEX items, including identifying suppliers, requesting quotes, and comparing offers
  • Develop Procurement synergies between Service Centers
  • Partner closely with the Category Managers to align the negotiation strategies
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand plant operational needs and procurement requirements
  • Assist in maintaining and updating supplier databases and performance metrics
  • Participate in supplier negotiations and meetings under supervision
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives within the procurement department
  • Assist in preparing reports and presentations on procurement activities and performance
  • Learn and apply relevant procurement policies, procedures, and best practices

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing, or recently completed, a bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multitask on several concurrent projects
  • Ability to work and thrive in a team environment
  • Ability to work with customers and leadership in remote locations
  • Communicate effectively to groups in person and over the phone
  • Working knowledge of MS Office suite
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail and perseverance
