The Oregon Health Authority (OHA), Public Health Division (PHD), Health Promotion and Chronic Disease Prevention (HPCDP) Section is recruiting a Project Management Coordinator (Operations and Policy Analyst 2) to provide support to the section’s Strategic Communications Team. This Team works with diverse communities and cross-agency partners to manage social marketing campaigns and strategic health communications technical assistance to prevent the leading causes of preventable death and disease. This portfolio includes the social marketing brands Smokefree Oregon, Rethink the Drink, and more.
This position will support project management for prevention and health promotion efforts including website management, social media management, strategic communications technical assistance, and other communications projects.

Location:
Most of this work may be conducted remotely at an alternate worksite with full access to the needed operating systems and technology. However, there are times that the work will need to be conducted at the central work location listed in this announcement, the Portland State Office Building located at 800 NE Oregon Street, Portland, OR 97232. Work location may be reconsidered based on changing needs of the program.

What will you do?
As a Communications Project Coordinator, you will work with multiple internal and external partners to manage strategic communications projects. Projects will include supporting statewide and local partner communications initiatives across multiple prevention topics including tobacco and excessive alcohol use.
This position will involve performing the following duties:
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with local partners including local public health departments, community-based organizations, and Regional Health Equity Coalitions to provide technical assistance on communications planning and implementation.
- Coordinate the maintenance of health communication websites, including a partner resource portal.
- Work with the HPCDP Strategic Communications Team and external contractors to plan, implement, and evaluate social media channels using Hootsuite and other tools.
- Create and maintain a training and technical assistance tracking system to improve team responses to email requests, documentation, reporting, and cross-center coordination.
- Support program communications technical assistance efforts including grant requirements, training, and contractor coordination.
- Prepare reports, guidance documents, emails, and a variety of other communications materials for diverse audiences.
- Support other Strategic Communications Team projects as needed.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
Minimum Qualifications
Any combination of experience and education equivalent to five years of experience coordinating projects related to communications, health promotion and public health.
OR
A bachelor’s degree in public health, community health, marketing, communications, or a related degree AND two years of experience coordinating projects related to health promotion or public health.
OR
A master’s degree in public health, community health, marketing, communications, or a related degree AND one year of experience coordinating projects related to health promotion or public health.
