Title: Recruiter/Completion Advisor, Ready to Reconnect Program (Grant-funded)

POSITION SUMMARY
The Recruiter/Completion Advisor is responsible for recruiting, tracking and assisting students by providing holistic services from pre-enrollment to completion by connecting students to internal and external resources, wraparound services and high-touch advising to help students achieve persistence and success. The main emphasis of this position is to build relationships with prospective Nashville State Community College students and to assist and advise them through the enrollment process, including career advising.
This is a grant-funded position through June 30, 2026.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide student-centered services and advising to prospective students regarding the college, academic and workforce course offerings, career choice, admission procedures and financial aid options. This includes assisting applicants through the application, career development, and financial aid processes. Review student progress and track student use of services to support post-secondary success. Work closely with students to identify potential roadblocks and connect students to supports and resources to help students better achieve academic progress, persistence and completion. Maintain accurate tracking data and notes for each assigned student, recommending appropriate referrals and opportunity programs.

Support equitable participation and achievement in high-quality pathways that lead to high-demand, high wage careers. Participate in recruitment events on and off campus, such as high school fairs, college fairs, campus tours, open houses and other community events. This includes attending evening and weekend events as needed. Create and conduct training sessions/workshops for students that support success both inside and outside of the classroom. Assist in planning, implementing and evaluating creative approaches to increase awareness about Nashville State to prospective student audiences that lead to increased enrollment and completion. Utilize an SIS student records system and be able to function within a computerized office environment. Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree

Two (2) or more years’ work experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree

Community college experience

Experience with career and/or college counseling with a wide range of populations, including adult, first generation and non-traditional student populations

Demonstrated leadership ability

Bilingual fluency in English and Arabic or Spanish

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to manage a caseload system of advising. Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data to make recommendations and set goals. Ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders. Ability to work some nights and weekends. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong background in customer service. Strong initiative and ability to work effectively in groups and independently. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, along with the ability to organize and complete multiple tasks simultaneously.

Rate of Pay: $43,453.00 - $54,316.00 depending on experience
