POSITION:                 School Nurse – RN

LOCATION:               Various Locations

REPORTS TO:             Principal and Coordinator of Health Services

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:  Responsible for providing general health care services to students

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

·        Graduate of an accredited school for registered nurses, BSN preferred.

·        Successful experience as a school nurse preferred.

·        Experience with nursing procedures (tracheotomy, G-tube feeding, catheterization, diabetic care, etc.) highly preferred.

·        Knowledgeable of school health procedures including state and federal mandates.

·        Desire and demonstrated ability to work with school-aged children.

CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Current and valid State of Connecticut Registered Nurse license

Current and valid CPR certification

SALARY AND TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Salary in accordance with Hartford Federation of School Health Professionals (2018-2025) - Appendix A, Salary Schedule 5A: ($47,593-$73,042). 10-month work year.
