Job Summary
The Senior Director of Procurement and Strategic Sourcing is responsible for driving enterprise spend management, strategic sourcing, and category management across the organization. This position oversees the end-to-end source-to-pay process, ensuring policy compliance, risk mitigation, and vendor performance optimization. Working closely with executive and senior leadership. This position emphasizes change management and process improvement to support the organization’s financial and operational goals.
This position is responsible for directing all aspects of running an efficient team, including hiring, supervising, coaching, training, disciplining, and motivating direct reports.
Duties
Strategic Sourcing and Category Management:
Develop and lead category management strategies that align with the organization’s goals, ensuring cost savings, quality improvements, and innovation in procurement.
Manage the sourcing process from supplier selection through contract negotiation, ensuring compliance and alignment with risk management standards.
Conduct market and spend analyses to identify and leverage cost-saving opportunities across key procurement categories.
Source-to-Pay Management and Optimization:
Oversee the source-to-pay (S2P) process, focusing on system efficiency, transparency, and data integrity.
Partner with IT and Finance to optimize S2P technology, particularly SAP Ariba, to enhance process workflows across requisitions, approvals, and payments.
Act as the go-to resource for S2P system utilization, guiding the procurement team and stakeholders on leveraging technology to improve procurement efficiency.
Supplier Relationship and Performance Management:
Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, establishing performance standards and conducting regular reviews to ensure quality and service benchmarks are met.
Implement a vendor management framework to monitor supplier performance, manage corrective actions, and mitigate risks associated with critical suppliers and spend categories.
Cross-Functional Collaboration and Change Management:
Lead change management efforts within procurement and across the enterprise, fostering collaboration with business units to support integrated, business-focused procurement strategies.
Engage with leadership and departments such as Legal, IT, and Operations to ensure procurement activities align with broader organizational objectives and compliance requirements.
Provide regular updates, training, and support to business units on procurement processes and systems, promoting understanding and adherence across teams.

Risk and Compliance Management:
Establish and enforce procurement policies that adhere to regulatory and organizational standards, focusing on compliance and risk mitigation.
Conduct routine audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement, implementing controls to maintain compliance across procurement activities.
Ensure rigorous due diligence and adherence to ethical standards in supplier selection and contract management.
Financial Oversight and Performance Metrics:
Monitor procurement spending against budget targets, identifying, and addressing variances as needed to meet financial goals.
Implement and track KPIs for procurement efficiency, cost savings, and supplier performance, using insights to drive continuous improvement.
Lead cost optimization efforts, including competitive bidding and supplier consolidation, to maximize value and cost efficiency.
Team Leadership and Development:
Develops goals, objectives and actions plans for assigned staff which includes full management responsibility for the hiring, performance reviews, salary reviews and disciplinary matters for direct reporting employees. Cultivate a collaborative, results-driven team environment focused on best practices in strategic sourcing.
Facilitate training for procurement staff to stay updated on industry best practices, tools, and trends, supporting the team’s role as a strategic resource for the organization.

Education Required
Bachelor's Degree in Related FieldIn lieu of degree, equivalent education and/or experience may be considered.Education Preferred

Required:
At least 9 years of source-to-pay experience with proven results in spend management,
At least 8 years of experience in leading, supervising and/ or managing staff.
Experience with sourcing, procurement, and vendor management.
Skills
Required:
Demonstrated expertise in category management, procurement strategy, and contract lifecycle management, with hands-on experience using Ariba or similar tools.
Excellent verbal and written communication, and presentation skills.
Strong leadership, performance management and interpersonal skills.
Strong computer skills, ideally with experience using Windows-based PC programs.
Ability to coordinate multiple group efforts within the company to achieve objectives.
