Senior Manager Logistics Operations
Position Summary
Logistics Senior Manager is responsible for all aspects of an organization's logistics management function to control, deliver, and distribute products and materials to the destination. Implements an overall strategy, metrics, and processes to deploy an optimized logistic network and operations. Oversees critical and related inventory, distribution, and transportation operations that support the achievement of organizational goals and KPI's for product delivery and customer satisfaction. Selects vendors and negotiates rates and service levels and monitors performance. Additionally, ensures compliance with all regulations governing transportation of goods. Utilizes analytics to monitor and measure performance, identify problems in operations, and achieve high performance at optimal cost.
Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.
Role & Responsibilities
- Coordinates receiving, inventory, shipping and cycle counting activities with manufacturing and materials management
- Oversees shipment and receiving of materials in accordance with delivery requirements and quality specifications
- Lead a team of warehouse associates tracking performance management, career development and operational goal achievement
- Monitor and direct order management, warehouse shipping schedules and transportation execution to achieve on-time delivery and order fill rates.
- Provide functional guidance to teams responsible for Transportation, Distribution & Foreign Trade.
- Responsible for the design, development, and enforcement of transportation/distribution policies, processes, and strategies as well as analytics to drive decisions across the business.
- Lead development and implementation of warehouse and transportation policies and procedures
- Responsible for creating and implementing cost reduction strategies and programs for all facets of transportation, distribution & foreign trade.
- Responsible for the setting, monitoring, and adhering to key transportation & distribution performance indicators (KPIs) and ensuring improvement measures are taken where needed with key stakeholders
- Involved with strategic planning groups to support business objectives as it relates to product launches, customer segmentation and more.
- Collaborate with divisional and corporate leaders regularly on company Logistics & Transportation goal alignment.
- Evaluate equipment and facility upgrades to support continuous improvement.
- Leads Logistics reporting & analytics capability, supporting operational execution by the broader logistics organization
- Supports the qualification and implementation of WMS, SAP and others

- Internal: All Operations, Supply Planners, Demand Planners, Quality, Customer Service and finance
- External: Customers, 3rd party Co-packers, storage locations and transportation providers
Knowledge and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Supply Chain Management, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least 10 years of transportation operations and warehouse distribution experience required.
- Must have previous leadership experience.
- Being team-oriented and capable of working in a multi-task environment will be a valued asset.
- Experience leading a large-scale automated warehouse or distribution facility
- Must have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Detailed knowledge of supply chain and logistics business processes required.
- Experience in implementation of ERP systems preferred
