Candidates must possess upon hire sterile processing certification (CBSPD and/or CRCST) as a condition of employment. Must maintain the certification throughout employment.
Physical Requirements
Lifting, pushing, or pulling of objects up to 50 lbs, standing/walking for extended periods of time, handling sharp instruments.
Shift
Monday – Friday 8 hours per day. Hours are based on processing needs of the department
Job Summary
The person in this position is responsible for performing instrument cleaning, sterilization and packaging; and the distribution and collection of dental procedural/surgical kits and instruments. The successful candidate will assure patient safety and infection control while providing exceptional customer service. This position will also serve as the team lead for the Dentistry Sterilization Division, will provide training for new staff, and will assume the duties of the supervisor in the supervisor’s absence.
To be considered for this position, candidates must possess upon hire sterile processing certification (CBSPD and/or CRCST) as a condition of employment. Must maintain the certification throughout employment.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Leadership, teamwork, excellent communication skill, patience, accuracy, attention to detail, hand and finger dexterity and motor skill, knowledge of sterilization and packaging processes and procedures, knowledge of safety hazards, maintaining records/logs and proper chain of command, teamwork, flexibility, positive attitude and behaviors, ability to work in a stressful environment. Must possess a Sterile Processing certification (CSBPD or IAHCSMM) upon hire and must maintain the certification throughout employment.
