The role of Vice President Interest Rate Risk Banking Book Global Treasury offers the successful candidate an opportunity to work in a team supporting the Director of Interest Rate Risk Banking Book (IRRBB) Analytics in the Americas to implement HSBC’s Interest IRRBB framework and strategy. Working closely with Markets Treasury, Regional IRRBB teams, Finance Change Delivery and Transformation, Treasury Risk Management, Lines of Business, FinOPs, and IT to improve HSBC’s current IRRBB capabilities considering the current strategy and deliver a planned book of work. The role holder will ensure that the HNAH IRRBB risks are properly understood, analyzed, and mitigated in a timely fashion. Data analytics and automation will play a key role in that effort, ensuring a sustainable and robust regulatory reporting framework
As our Vice President Interest Rate Risk Banking Book Global Treasury you will:
- Working within the Global Treasury IRRBB team, reporting to the Director of IRRBB analytics, the role holder will provide support on analysis and reporting for related activities, helping to shape and drive the implementation of the IRRBB strategy
- The role holder will combine strong subject matter expertise in IRRBB topics, together with strong analytics skills to analyze the balance sheet activities that give rise to structural interest rate risk
- Providing support to the Director of IRRBB Analytics to enable measured and informed decisions around the required trade off in entity financial resources to achieve the desired level of NII stabilisation
- Working collaboratively with colleagues within the Global Treasury Function, IRRBB, and Finance Change and Delivery and Transformation teams to deliver a consistent and comprehensive IRRBB strategy, governance and steering approach
- Providing analytics support to the Head of IRRBB Analytics to define, document and implement sound IRR assumptions for reporting and managing IRRBB consistent with best practices and fulfilling the requirements established in the policy owned by IRRBB 2LOD
- Supporting activities to improve the measurement and management of all material IRRBB risks and propose IRRBB risk appetite, helping maintain and ensure regulatory excellence
- Working in conjunction with the Global Treasury, IRRBB members in ensuring the business continues to operate to the highest levels of operational, governance and accountability standards via well-scoped and managed strategy and framework delivery
- Ensure and promote sharing and adoption of best practice/lessons learned/continual improvement ethos
- Ensuring Treasury senior management are kept informed of all key financial/non-financial issues/developments impacting the business by way of acting as a key point of escalation and if required, play a critical part in any subsequent remediation efforts
For this role, HSBC targets a pay range between $141,300.00 and $180,000.00
The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.

RequirementsYou´ll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role:
- Degree level education preferably with a professional qualification and with substantial experience (ideally 5 years+) in a Treasury business environment.
- Ability to communicate in an effective and professional manner with senior management
- Inspires and delivers high performance in respect of implementation of change, articulation of business impact and engagement of stakeholders, within a complex matrix structure
- Clear communicator of complex issues across a wide range of diverse stakeholders - across geography, discipline and the governance chain
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical and project management skills – able to drive change
- Strong knowledge of IRRBB risk management, governance frameworks, and external regulatory environment
- Relevant product knowledge with emphasis on banking book products, structural hedging frameworks, and associated modelling and metrics (NII, EVE etc)
- Past experience with relevant IRRBB systems, data and modelling infrastructure (a plus)
- A broad understanding of financial budgets/models, with experience of analysing data effectively for planning, forecasting and reporting
- Good broader understanding of broader treasury operations and banking issues – Liquidity, funding and cash management, capital, transfer pricing would be helpful
