Assistant Professor of Religious Studies (Fall 2025) UIW Mission Position Summary The Department of Religious Studies invites full-time, tenure-track, faculty candidates for Assistant Professor of Religious Studies within the College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences beginning August 2025. Full-time faculty at UIW are expected to teach four courses in the fall semester and four courses in the spring semester. In all matters, faculty are expected to maintain the highest standards of professional ethics consistent with the UIW Mission. Official duties and responsibilities of faculty members at the University include teaching, scholarship, service and professional activities. We are seeking candidates with research and teaching competence in the area of biblical studies focusing on current interpretative trajectories and/or pushing disciplinary boundaries. The successful candidate will be able to incorporate Latino/a and/or indigenous theology into biblical scholarship and teaching. Familiarity with the Catholic Intellectual Tradition, broadly defined, is desired. UIW is designated as an HSI, and its student population is diverse by many measures.
