This is a full-time, fiscal year contract in the Division of Arts, Sciences, &amp; Technologies. The position reports to the Dean of Arts, Sciences, &amp; Technologies and will be primarily stationed in the Dyer County, TN area. This position is grant funded.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teach an equivalent of 30 hours (TLE) per academic year in a combination of eSports, Computer Information Technology, and/or Business courses.
Coach the DSCC eSports team.
Ability to teach and manage multiple courses in an individualized setting.
Teach a range of ages from Dual Enrollment high school students to nontraditional, returning adults.
Recruit students from area high schools and from the community to make DSCC’s program viable and competitive.
Flexibility to teach evenings/weekends and/or off-campus courses as needed (requires the use of personal vehicle).
Practice a learning-centered educational philosophy and redesign courses to include research- based learning strategies including service-learning opportunities, learning communities, critical thinking skills, co-operative learning, and reading across the curriculum.
Develop web-enhanced courses for delivery in technology-enhanced classrooms/labs (such as interactive (Zoom) rooms), online, or in a hybrid mode, and using accessibility standards.
Become certified in and fully use the course management system for all classes.
Provide course materials and information in a format that is accessible for all students using current and approved standards.
Work with colleagues to assess the effectiveness of courses, analyze the results, develop and implement improvement plans, and document this information each semester in the form prescribed by DSCC.
Participate in professional development and maintain membership in an appropriate regional, state and/or national organization related to your teaching at DSCC.
Assist with the identification and mentoring of adjunct instructors.
Revise and develop curriculum and select textbooks and e-textbooks in cooperation with colleagues and in line with accessibility standards.
Assist in the preparation of class schedules.
Advise students, maintain regular office hours, and participate in college life and committee work of the College.
Willingness to acquire software certifications as needed.
Assist in grant writing and/or grant management.
Actively communicate with colleagues and students using email, voice mail, text and other electronic means. Normally, responses are expected in no more than 72 hours.
Be trained and certified as a Master Advisor.
Willingness to teach in a correctional facility.
Perform other duties as assigned.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Sedentary: Desk work; travel will be required for college or program activities. Insignificant effort other than normal movement. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Minimal Hazard/Exposure:

Campus Location:&nbsp;Sevier Campus (Employees are assigned to a “home” location but may occasionally or regularly be required to work at other WSCC locations.)
Job Purpose:&nbsp;Expected to teach Associate of Applied Science- level Engineering Technology classes and laboratories. This position’s primary area of responsibility will be the Engineering Systems Technology degree, and requires experience in at least two of the following four primary area: Mechanical systems, Computer aided drafting, Machining and inspection, and Operations management. Also, will perform minor repairs and periodic maintenance on equipment assigned to the Engineering Technology Programs.
Essential Job Functions:
<ul>
<li>Provide instruction and training in the Engineering Systems Technology program and its disciplines. Instruction will cover, but is not limited to, mechanical systems, computer aided design, and manual and CNC machining and operations management.</li>
<li>Maintain knowledge of emerging technologies and processes relative to engineering technology.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Share responsibility for day-to-day operation and routine upkeep of classrooms, labs, and equipment.&nbsp;</li>
<li>May perform other duties as assigned.&nbsp;</li>
</ul>
Required Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology or other degree title related to the discipline. 
</li>
<li>Minimum of (3) years’ experience in the field. Consideration will also be given to graduates of B.S. programs in the fields of Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Industrial Technology when accompanied by a strong demonstration of experience in disciplines previously mentioned through application and/or professional certifications. 
</li>
<li>Demonstrated experience in the area of mechanical systems. 
</li>
<li>Demonstrated experience with AutoCAD, Inventor, Solidworks and /or REVIT. 
</li>
<li>Demonstrated experience in manual and and CNC machining. 
</li>
<li>Demonstrated experience in operations management and quality assurance. 
</li>
<li>Teaching experience at the secondary or post-secondary level or documented experience as a professional industrial trainer specifically in electrical and electronic applications. 
</li>
<li>Must be willing to support evening and distance education offerings as needed to reach students in varying demographics. 
</li>
</ul>
Preferred Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>Preferential consideration will also be given to holders of graduate degrees in fields of Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Industrial Technology, but only if the B.S. requirements are also met. 
</li>
<li>Disciplines in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial and Applied Engineering will receive the highest consideration. 
</li>
<li>Experience in course delivery through hybrid and online technologies will be considered a plus. 
</li>

<li>Willingness to participate as a team member to realize the overall goals of the Engineering Technology programs and prepare students for the workplace and lifelong learning opportunities.</li>
<li>Strong desire to work with students and act as a professional mentor to help them achieve success is required.</li>
</ul>
Leadership &amp; Supervisory: This position has no authority or responsibility for the supervision of others.
Environment &amp; Working Conditions:&nbsp;Occasionally exposed to extreme, environmental conditions and hazardous materials. &nbsp;Office environment is temperature controlled with occasional fluctuations.&nbsp; May be exposed to varying conditions when traveling to various work locations on other campuses.
Physical Demands (including requirements for travel or working nights/weekends/holidays):
