In addition, this facility houses more than 30 advanced sub-specialty programs, such as pediatric oncology and pediatric surgery. The NICU is a 66-bed unit providing Level IV and intermediate care for the newborn. It provides a neonatal transport team that utilizes the Kentucky Children’s Hospital ambulance, a mobile neonatal unit, and serves as a regional neonatal transport center serving Eastern and Central Kentucky. Our NICU is fully equipped with state-of-the-art technology to give every at-risk newborn the best possible care. This new faculty member is expected to work collaboratively with basic science, clinical, and population-based investigators at the Markey Cancer Center, to pursue independent methodological research, and to participate in education activities. The position requires a Ph.D. degree in biostatistics, computer science, bioinformatics or a related field. In addition, strong methodologic and applied expertise, excellent collaboration and communication skills, and productivity in research is required. Experience in cancer-related research is preferred, though not required. The Markey Cancer Center has a strong commitment to professional development and mentoring.
