SUMMARY Part-time / Substitute Instructors are responsible for delivering quality instruction in their field of expertise as it relates to the programs offered at the Tennessee College of Applied Technology Shelbyville, one of our extension campuses located in Winchester and Fayetteville TN., or at a specific teaching location.&nbsp;
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Credential from a technical or community college, teaching experience, and work experience in the area being taught.

Job Title: Assistant Softball Coach
Institution:&nbsp;Walters State Community College
Campus Location:&nbsp;Morristown Campus (Employees are assigned to a “home” location but may occasionally or regularly be required to work at other WSCC locations.)
Job Purpose:&nbsp;The purpose of this position is to recruit the best student-athletes from across the nation to play softball at Walters State. In the case of a commitment from an incoming student-athlete, this position coordinates the admissions, financial aid, and off-campus housing processes. In the softball program, this position provides guidance and direction to student-athletes in training, both on the softball field and in the weight room and also serves as an academic liaison for student-athletes.
Essential Job Functions:
<ul>
<li>Responsible for building and maintaining positive relationships with national and international prospective student-athletes in an effort to recruit them as members of the softball program. Related duties include organizing and managing on-campus showcases and camps designed to evaluate student-athletes. Recruiting responsibility includes traveling to athletic events to evaluate student-athletes. Assists the head coach with in-game strategies.</li>
<li>Directs the training of student athletes through batting practices, demonstrations, pitching machines, hitting fungo groundballs and flyballs. Ability to throw batting practice is a crucial requirement of this job. This position will also be responsible for overseeing early morning strength and conditioning program with student-athletes.</li>
<li>Provides academic support to student-athletes in order to rectify any missing assignments, lack of attendance, and overall academic progress. Also responsible for monitoring study hall sessions two-four times per week.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Assists with maintaining the softball field to ensure proper function and safety for the players. Includes mowing, edging, watering, seeding, weed eating, as well as any other duties needed at the field.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Manages inventory of all Walters State Softball equipment including softballs, fungo bats, pitching machines, uniforms, practice tops, catching gear, batting helmets, travel bags, radar guns, and video cameras.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Contributes to the maintenance of a social media presence by designing graphics and updating social media platforms.</li>
<li>Assists student athletes with placement at four-year universities by maintaining consistent communication with four-year coaches.</li>

SUMMARY
The part-time, evening, Technology Foundations Instructor shall work in coordination with full-time Technology Foundations Instructor, teaching, and guiding students in the areas of essential reading, writing and math skills. This work is essential to preparing students to succeed in their chosen programs of study. The adjunct instructor will provide instruction and guidance to students at two primary locations: one (1) evening per week at the Franklin County Extension Campus in Winchester and one (1) evening per week at the Shelbyville Main Campus in Shelbyville.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
<ul>
<li>Postsecondary degree in Education or related field from an accredited college or university.</li>
<li>3+ years of practical experience teaching essential reading, writing, and math skills.</li>
<li>Ability to be certified, as required, to administer tests within one (1) calendar month of hire date.</li>

Job Summary
Reporting to the Tutor Coordinator, tutors are responsible for tutoring project participants and for attending tutor meetings, program workshops, seminars, and training sessions.
Job Duties
<ul>
<li>Provide tutorial assistance as assigned.</li>
<li>Assist participants in the development of study skills necessary for successful completion of courses so that students are retained, graduated and/or transferred.</li>
<li>Maintain accurate and current documentation concerning participant contact and progress.</li>
<li>Maintain contact with SSS staff as required.</li>
<li>Refer participants to Student Support Services staff for information or assistance with issues such as academic, transfer and career advisement, and problem-solving.</li>

Advanced Tutors:

<li>Completion of Associate degree or higher at an accredited institution with a final GPA of at least 3.0 and grade of “A” or “B” in subjects to be tutored if applicable; OR acceptance as adjunct faculty at Northeast State or prior tutoring experience for Student Support Services with all documentation on file.

Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited college/university with at least 5 years of full-time practical computer information technology related working experience and must possess at least one current industry recognized networking credential.

Job Summary
Instruct justice-involved students in technical training to prepare them to re-enter the job market in the building construction field through lecture, demonstrations, and/or audio-visual aids. Responsible for individualized instruction in all phases of the Building Construction Technology program using the prescribed curriculum while ensuring efficient and safe delivery of instruction to students. Prepare and/or revise syllabi of courses of study with detailed lesson plans. Administer assessments to evaluate student progress. Maintain student academic records and submit reports related to the program (i.e., grades, attendance, discipline, etc.). Attend workshops and/or other training programs to remain current in the building construction industry.
