This is a fantastic opportunity to work in an established clinic with a wonderful reputation!Position SummaryThe role of the Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) is a necessary part of the physical therapy team, helping physical therapists deliver quality care to their patients.&nbsp; PTAs implement selected components of patient/client interventions (treatment), obtain data related to the interventions provided, and make modifications in selected interventions either to progress the patient/client as directed by the physical therapist or to ensure patient/client safety and comfort.Key Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe key duties and responsibilities of the Physical Therapy Assistant include, but are not limited to:<ul><li>Has a working knowledge of job duties and complies with all policies and procedures of the clinic</li><li>Treats patients in a professional and timely manner</li><li>Ensures the patient’s modesty and safety during the therapy session</li><li>Uses legible, legal, and accurate documentation according to APTA and WPT standards</li><li>Educates and oversees Physical Therapy Techs, PTA students, and volunteers</li><li>Uses facility equipment and supplies in cost effective and respectful manner that ensures equipment is in safe, working condition</li><li>Maintains a clean and organized work environment</li><li>Maintains an adequate level of supplies and equipment within the department</li><li>Performs skilled service under the code of ethics maintained by the APTA</li><li>Attends all staff meetings</li><li>Progresses treatments according to plan of care determined by the Physical Therapist</li><li>Advises Physical Therapist of changes in patient’s subjective history and treatment alteration when patient response and progress deviates from normal standards</li><li>May be required to write daily notes, progress reports, and participate in discharge summaries for documentation of sessions</li><li>Attends continuing education courses on related clinical topics</li><li>Communicates effectively with front desk staff for scheduling and insurance purposes</li></ul>Education/Experience<ul><li>Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) program (CAPTE) required</li><li>Washington state physical therapy assistant license, interim permit, or temporary permit required</li><li>Earn (continuously) continuing education units as required by the state of Washington</li><li>5+ years experience in an outpatient orthopedic clinic setting preferred</li><li>Sports background or experience working with athletic population preferred&nbsp;</li></ul>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities<ul><li>Must meet physical requirements of frequent lifting, bending and squatting</li><li>Ability to perform well under pressure</li><li>Superior customer service skills</li><li>Great interpersonal skills; demonstrating patience, composure and cooperation; working well with all patients, physicians and staff</li><li>Ensuring that patients and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals' needs and rights.</li><li>Understanding of and adherence to all safety, risk management and precautionary procedures, including the consistent respect for confidentiality (HIPAA)</li></ul>Work Environment/Physical DemandsThe work environment/physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a teammate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.&nbsp; Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable differently abled persons to perform the essential functions.Work may be performed in an office and clinical environment.
