Job Description:Position Summary:The Director/Senior Director of Admissions will be an articulate, organized, dynamic, and enthusiastic team player. Excellent organizational and management skills are necessary.&nbsp; The responsibilities will include those principal duties listed below. This will include specific strategies to build The Chicago School’s diversity, and develop new markets.</li><li>Act as primary liaison to lead faculty/department chairs regarding enrollment goals, admission decisions, as well as engaging them in the recruitment process.</li><li>Build relationships, and closely communicate with institutional directors, especially accounting, student finance, student services, admission operations and international student services.</li><li>Develop strategies for timely reading of applications, files, communicating with students, and the proper selection of students.</li><li>Manage, coordinate, conduct and analyze all weekly, monthly and annual admission reports (including monthly and annual reports from admission events and recruitment efforts).</li><li>Monitor and manage the Admissions team and individual performance and provide monthly assessments and trainings.</li><li>Maintain knowledge of all TCSPP programs and requirements.</li><li>Coordinate and execute all aspects of recruitment including: &nbsp;professional conferences, fairs, PsiChi, community organizations, and website.</li><li>Oversee all updating of letters and the execution of all mailings.</li><li>Provide, manage and produce weekly, monthly and yearly applicant, inquiry, and enrollment reports.</li><li>Responsible for counselor development in terms of overall contribution to the team and readiness for advancement.</li><li>Assist in developing yearly admission strategic plan and recruitment calendar.</li><li>Assist in recruitment efforts by attending events, meeting with prospective students, parents, college academic programs, professional organizations, and alumni in support of enrollment.</li><li>Establish and maintain professional relationships with Academic Program Directors, Financial Services, Facilities, Student Services, and Registrar to coordinate efforts in purchasing, events, admission, and communication for the office and recruitment efforts.</li><li>Manage Admission budget (spending) as well as create annual budget with the Campus Dean.</li><li>Maintain and ensure website is current and flows properly.</li><li>Works directly with prospective students through the admissions process, as needed.</li><li>Position requires some evening and weekend duties.</li><li>Perform other duties as assigned.</li></ul>Principal Admissions Representative Duties as Needed:<ul><li>Establishes and maintains contact with prospective students throughout the admissions cycle in a timely and professional manner.</li><li>Completes a high level of outbound calls per day to reach prospective students in a timely manner</li><li>Clearly articulates the mission and value of TCSPP to prospective students.</li><li>Conducts personal consultations to qualify prospective students on their educational goals and interests, to explain available academic programs, to advise them on admission requirements, and to ensure that all admission paperwork is completed properly. Job Summary THE OPPORTUNITY The UK College of Medicine seeks a visionary director with a successful record of research achievement focused on the advancement of equity in cancer, cardiovascular disease, dementia and other related neurological diseases, diabetes and obesity, substance use, or other health conditions. Exceptional accomplishments as a researcher and academic are necessary, as the director’s duties will include continuing their own research program as well as supervising trainees and maintaining service activities. SCOPE OF ROLE As a position of oversight, the director of the CHET serves as the most visible advocate for center activities. The director will ensure that faculty and trainees work in conjunction with one another and with other groups across the college and campus, sharing research resources whenever possible. The director will also provide administrative, scientific, and mentoring support to center faculty, staff, and trainees. The director will work to uphold and expand the reputation and mission of the center at the University and in the community while also serving as a leader for the College of Medicine. The UKVDL Director will lead the team of faculty and staff of a full-service, American Association of Veterinary Laboratory Diagnosticians (AAVLD) accredited, National Animal Health Laboratory Network (NAHLN) tier 2 laboratory with operations running seven days a week. The laboratory includes the following sections: bacteriology, clinical pathology, diagnostic services, epidemiology, histology, information technology, molecular biology, next-generation sequencing, quality assurance/control, pathology, ruminant extension, serology, toxicology and virology. The UKVDL mission is to develop and apply state-of-the-art diagnostic methodology to improve animal health and marketability, to protect the public health and to assist in the preservation of the human-animal bond through the principles of One Health. The University of Kentucky Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory strives to be the leading veterinary diagnostic service, research and teaching laboratory in the United States through the application of peer-reviewed, validated scientific methodology and quality control systems. The UKVDL serves as one of the premier veterinary diagnostic laboratories in the United States, providing timely and accurate services in support of the practicing veterinary profession, livestock agriculture, the signature equine industries, the poultry industry and backyard flock operations, companion animals, wildlife, and zoo animals. The UKVDL was established in 1970 by the State Legislature of Kentucky and is charged with safeguarding the health of animal agriculture in Kentucky via veterinary diagnostic testing and disease identification/confirmation. The UKVDL laboratory is part of the FDA Veterinary Laboratory Investigation Response Network. Essential Functions: The Director is responsible for oversight of all laboratory operational activities including: 1) budget development, 2) management and supervision of professional and technical staff, and 3) maintaining compliance of the quality management system program to preserve and ensure AAVLD accreditation. Within the university, the Director works closely with the UK Gluck Equine Research Center, the UK Department of Animal and Food Sciences, the UK Division of Laboratory Animal Resources, and other UK academic units.
