Complexity &amp; Creativity: The business-sensitive nature of the specialized applications used in the business and executive offices require technical knowledge of methods to secure desktops and related network transactions as well as an understanding of the policies, procedures, and, state and federal regulations governing PCI compliance, PII information, and other sensitive information.
Magnitude of Impact: Immediate. If a problem cannot be resolved by the technician, a supervisor would be called upon to intervene.
Responsibility for Accuracy: Errors in hardware/software setup could greatly affect the availability of equipment to students as needed.&nbsp; Critical in all departments, but especially in the Testing Center that also services community users
Financial Impact:
Responsible to maintain accurate records for inventory control of all the computer/networking equipment in the departments. The computer technician is the first level defense against equipment theft and or misplacement.&nbsp;
As part of this job a technician must act as a consultant. We are asked by the academic departments to evaluate existing computer hardware/software and give a recommendation as to whether it would be better to upgrade existing equipment, or replace the equipment with new hardware/software. Many times the technician is tasked with researching specialized equipment, and to give a recommendation, on what would be considered the best price to purchase or replace computer software/hardware based on his knowledge.
The technician is tasked with keeping accurate maintenance records on computer software/hardware in order to make good judgments as to when it is most cost effective time to repair or replace equipment.
Judgement and Decisions: Decisions on when we need to do updates and when we can install new computers or software and also recommend software and hardware to faculty/staff
Nature of Contacts: 
Daily interaction is necessary to resolve computer hardware/software problems and act as a consultant for researching and making recommendations concerning computer hardware/software and networking equipment.&nbsp; Occasionally discussion is necessary to resolve conflicts between faculty members concerning software configurations, and or equipment upgrades.
Daily contacts are made with other departments in the college that include, but not limited to the audio visual, facilities/building maintenance, IT systems manager, and Network Manager.&nbsp; On occasion a technician will be required to work with people in other departments within the college in the event there is no one available to from that department to respond to requests for assistance. A technician will be required to assist other technicians in other departments as needed as well. In this instance, all of the other technician’s contacts will be utilized as well.
On a daily basis, a technician is required to contact hardware/software vendors to verify shipment, obtain license files, obtain documentation, troubleshoot technical issues, and resolve conflicts between the engineering department and outside vendors.
Physical Demands: 
Lifting at least 25lbs. Computers, monitors, printers and pushing carts full of equipment.
Hazards: 
There is a lot of exposure to lifting on a regular basis. Some printers and other equipment require more than one person to lift.&nbsp; A person doing this job will most definitely suffer some degradation of vision due long hours of staring at computer screens.

 Position Summary:&nbsp;The overall purpose of this job is to manage and operate all science laboratories on campus. Main functions include preparing science experiments, as well as obtaining all supplies, materials, and equipment needed by the faculty and students in the laboratories through college channels, and setting these out in an orderly fashion. This includes such things as preparing chemicals, reagents, and solutions, growing plants, properly disposing of chemical and biohazard waste, updating SDS information and other safety protocols, maintaining a clean/safe environment in the laboratories, cleaning up after experiments, and making sure equipment is accounted for and in working order. Another responsibility is to communicate with the laboratory instructors to help with troubleshooting minor issues during class. As a member of a site campus, this person is expected to engage with the campus community at that site campus. All of these are done with a team attitude to the benefit of our students and the goals of our college.
Duties and Responsibilities:
42% Set up laboratory for both lab experiments and for lab practicals with required supplies, materials, and equipment; take down the same. Lab setups include laboratory courses in General Biology, General Chemistry Anatomy and Physiology and Microbiology.
20% Clean up lab(s), including sanitation, waste disposal, maintenance and/or repair laboratory equipment, and models, ensuring proper storage of equipment, keeping accurate/up to date inventory of lab models and equipment
10% Order &amp; obtain needed supplies through communication with the Lead Laboratory Technician and other department members.

Position Summary: The overall purpose of this job is: The Testing Center is responsible for the testing activities of PSCC. These primarily include administration, proctoring and proper security of testing materials. We also administer basic skills assessment tests, class testing for teachers including on line courses, testing for off campus agencies, other colleges and universities and the administration of DSST and CLEP exams.
Typical Duties &amp; Responsibilities:
85% Test Administration
1. Operates Testing Centers with or without Testing Technician I (checks in students, pulls student tests, finds passwords, handles student/instructor concerns, seats examinees, helps examinees log-on to computers, starts timing instruments as needed, collects completed tests and testing materials, watches examinees to ensure administration conditions are met in the Testing Centers, etc.).
2. Successfully complete requirement necessary to achieve certification to administer a number of standardized exams, such as CLEP, DSST, Pearson-Vue and HISET.
3. Explains individual testing requirements to students—procedures and resolves any misunderstandings using appropriate customer service and management techniques. 4. Collaborate with faculty regarding test revisions, availability of tests, and guidelines and testing options for various tests.
5. Prepare an Incident Report to document irregularities, testing discrepancies, or dishonesty and forward report and copies of pertinent materials to faculty and Test Supervisor.
6. Maintains an optimal testing environment that adheres to college, standardized and National College Testing Association (NCTA) standards.
7. Collaborates with Supervisor, Test Administrators, and other testing staff regarding improving/changing testing operations, staffing, and updating of Testing Center policies and procedures.
8. Provides information, clarification and advice to testing staff regarding test delivery, policies, procedures, test retrieval and use of specialized computer testing software.
9. Interprets often complicated procedures for administration of proctored tests from other colleges/universities and standardized testing companies; and comprehends delivery methods for several categories of tests, including classroom make-up, Internet, CBT, essays, pre-GED, and other remote/proctored exams delivered paper/pencil or computer-based format.

Title:&nbsp;Event Technician (Temporary&nbsp;Part-Time) Position Summary:&nbsp;Primary job will be in the Clayton&nbsp;Performing Arts Center, Goins Building Auditorium and other spaces on the&nbsp;Hardin Valley Campus. However, events occur on all five campuses so travel can&nbsp;be expected from time to time. Closing&nbsp;Date:&nbsp;This position will stay open at the department’s&nbsp;discretion. Planning&nbsp;could include attendance at meetings and rehearsals to determine needs. 10% Other duties as assigned. Note:&nbsp;the college reserves the right to change or reassign&nbsp;job duties or combine positions at any time. Required Qualifications: • High school diploma or equivalent • Minimum of 1 year related work experience Knowledge,&nbsp;Skills &amp; Abilities: Ability to communicate effectively with clients and staff to&nbsp;foster a cooperative working environment. Client management experience&nbsp;beneficial. Sound and light board operations in a theatrical or event space,&nbsp;understanding of standard A/V equipment, experience with data entry software,&nbsp;Audio/Video troubleshooting skills, wiring, reading wiring diagrams,&nbsp;understanding both audio reinforcement and playback systems, basic mechanical&nbsp;knowledge. Skills with word processing, spreadsheets and database applications.&nbsp;No second language is required. On the job training with sound and light board operations,&nbsp;scheduling software, and ticket sales software. Preferred Qualifications: Specific experience in performing arts, including&nbsp;theatrical lighting, sound, and stage management.
