Assistant Professor of Intelligence and National Security Studies

The Department of Criminal Justice & Security Studies at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) is seeking to fill one full-time, tenure-track position in Intelligence and National Security Studies beginning in Fall 2025 at the Assistant Professor level. Responsibilities include conducting and publishing scholarly research, seeking extramural funding, teaching face-to-face and online courses, and service to the department, university, and profession.

Job Requirements:
Applicants must have a Ph.D. from an accredited university in criminal justice, political science, public policy, security studies, or a closely related discipline. ABD applicants will be considered if a doctorate degree will be in hand by Fall 2025. An active research agenda that includes scholarly publications is required to apply. Applicants possessing only a J.D., Psy.D., or Ed.D. will not be considered.

Preferred Areas: We are seeking candidates who have demonstrated research expertise in one or more of these areas: Open-Source Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Cyberwarfare, or Intelligence Analysis. Successful candidates will indicate how they can contribute to establishing and growing UTEP's Open-Source Intelligence Center.
