Assistant Professor of Management & Director of MBA Program
Alvernia University’s ACBSP-accredited Header School of Business invites applicants for a full-time tenure-track faculty position at the rank of assistant professor of Management and the Director of the Master of Business Administration (MBA) Online Program beginning August 2025.

Required Qualifications:
A Ph.D. in Management or a closely related field from an accredited institution is required, and prior teaching experience in the MBA program is preferred. Successful candidates will possess a commitment to excellence in teaching with a demonstrated ability to incorporate diverse pedagogical approaches in varied learning environments, have a demonstrated commitment to service, and have a defined research agenda. With Alvernia’s new state-of-the-art Reading CollegeTowne facility, our technology-driven classrooms and business lab equipped with Bloomberg Terminal, and the O’Pake Institute for Entrepreneurship and Economic Development, we support scholar-practitioners actively engaging in practice and action research.
With our ACBSP accreditation, the candidate should possess academic credentials and business experience to ensure an appropriate blend of theory, practice, and scholarship to meet program goals and objectives.
Teaching assignments may include traditional day, graduate, and adult education accelerated courses, off-site corporate education, and online/blended delivery formats. Commitment to high-impact practices such as service learning, experiential learning, action research, and innovative pedagogy is expected.
The MBA Program Director is charged with managing and leading the program, including but not limited to the following responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies for the growth and enhancement of the online MBA program.
- Collaborate with faculty, alumni, business and university community, and relevant stakeholders to ensure the quality and effectiveness of the online MBA program.
- Mentor and advise MBA students and engage in curriculum development and program assessment.
- Oversee all aspects of the online MBA program, including budget, student recruitment and retention, and faculty hiring and support.
- Actively participate in departmental, college, and university activities that support the mission of Alvernia University.
