Job Summary
TENURED/TENURE-TRACK FACULTY, Associate or Full Level
The Department of Biostatistics at the University of Kentucky is seeking applicants for tenured, 12- month faculty position at the associate or full professor level. The successful candidate will conduct impactful, collaborative research and contribute to training the next generation of biostatisticians, data scientists, and public health researchers. Responsibilities associated with the position include independent methodological and collaborative research, teaching, mentorship, and service to the University and the statistical community. A Ph.D. in biostatistics, statistics or a related field is required.
The University of Kentucky is committed to pursuing interdisciplinary research to address challenges and disparities that face Kentuckians. Biostatistics faculty have active research programs within multidisciplinary research centers and institutes, including the Center for Clinical and Translational Science, Kentucky Injury Research and Prevention Center, Sanders-Brown Center on Aging, Center for Health Equity Research, Center for Research on Violence Against Women, Barnstable Brown Diabetes Center, Center on Drug and Alcohol Research, and Institute for Pharmaceutical Outcomes and Policy. We seek a team scientist who is capable of growing methodological expertise and biostatistics capacity by contributing to collaborative opportunities within research centers and partnerships across campus. The Department of Biostatistics values teaching and student mentoring experience, at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The ideal candidate is expected to have demonstrated excellence in methodological research, collaborative research, teaching, and mentorship of students and early-career faculty.
