The Position

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of individuals seeking health benefits? We are looking for an experienced Benefits Enrollment Specialist to connect with patients and guide them through the enrollment process for vital public programs like ADAP, OA-HIPP, Medi-Cal, and Covered California

What You'll Do

  • Empower Patients: Engage with new and existing patients to assess their eligibility for public benefits and provide comprehensive support throughout the enrollment process.
  • Collaborate & Navigate Complexity: Help patients gather required documentation, troubleshoot application issues, and collaborate with Case Managers and Care Coordinators to ensure timely recertification to maintain uninterrupted coverage.
  • Educate: Serve as a resource for patients and Men's Health Foundation staff regarding the range of public benefit programs available to patients. Additionally, provide valuable health education on our services and programs to support holistic healthcare goals.
  • Document & Track: Capture, document, and track all client recruitment activities in the program/department database.
  • Multitask: Work as a team player who is flexible and professional. You will work on tasks that require you to be highly organized and detail-oriented

Who You Are:

  • A detail-oriented professional with a background in social sciences, health education, or related fields.
  • Experienced in patient navigation or benefits enrollment, with a niche for working with diverse populations.
  • A team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment and approaches every interaction with kindness and respect.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in social sciences field, health education or related field of study; Associate degree with two years of experience; high school/GED with three years of experience. Relevant experience considered will be inclusive of health education, public health, social work/case management or other related fields.
  • One year of experience as a patient navigator, case manager, or benefits enrollment specialist
  • Certified ADAP enroller, PrEP-AP enroller, and Covered California Certified Enrollment Counselor or ability to complete all required trainings and pass the competency tests within 60 days of the date of hire. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse population, including individuals of differing races, ethnicities, sexual orientations, gender identities, socio-economic backgrounds, religions, ages, English-speaking abilities, immigration statuses, and physical
