The Southeast Health District is seeking a highly qualified candidate to fill the full-time, salaried position of Children's 1st Program Coordinator based in Waycross, GA

As a Children's 1st Coordinator with the SEHD, you will join a dedicated group of public health professionals that help support the overall mission and vision of protecting lives of Georgian residents in a variety of ways.

Job Responsibilities

Under general supervision, this position provides leadership and oversight for staff within the Children 1st (C1st) program, ensuring program implementation aligns with performance requirements and current policies and procedures. The role focuses on collaboration and service integration with other child health programs, working with state office staff, supervisors, community partners, and county personnel to identify program needs and address service gaps through strategic planning. Key responsibilities include participating in district quality assurance/improvement audits, reporting findings, and utilizing data to strengthen the C1st program and referral system for children aged birth to five. Overseeing Maternal and Child Health (MCH) assessments and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures. Developing reports, educational materials, and ensuring the effective implementation of core C1st functions. Coordinating weekly staffing for birth-to-five programs. Collaborating with district administration to develop and revise annual budgets, monitoring programmatic budgets, and ensuring financial alignment. Providing assessment and intervention services for children and families enrolled in the C1st programs across the district. Additionally, this role will involve working directly with children and families in their homes and/or within a clinical environment to provide children’s developmental assessments. This position requires strong leadership, organizational, and collaborative skills to effectively support the mission of the C1st program.

Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree in nursing, public health or related field from an accredited college or university AND One year of nursing experience AND current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license AND CPR certified OR Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university AND Three years of nursing experience AND current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license AND CPR certified.

 Preferred Qualifications:

Public Health and Children 1st experience. Budget administration and experience working with children with special needs.

Southeast Health District accepts educational credential recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and/or the US Department of Education (DOE) will be considered. SEHD will contact educational institutions to verify degree, diploma, licensure, etc.
