Job Summary

The University of Kentucky is seeking a Compensation Consultant to join our team as we evolve and advance our pay strategies to drive employee satisfaction and success for our growing institution! The Compensation Consultant will serve as a strategic partner to assigned client groups, ensuring organizational structures and job classifications align with market benchmarks, internal equity, and University objectives. This role involves providing expert guidance on job evaluations, market analysis, and compliance while delivering excellent customer service and driving continuous improvement in HR practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Compensation Consulting
  • Partner with managers to develop strategic organizational structures, including reorganizations.
  • Collaborate with clients to determine appropriate job classifications and titles, adhering to consistent titling conventions.
  • Benchmark job roles using survey data and analytics to ensure external market alignment and internal equity.
  • Develop and present data-driven recommendations to leadership.
  • Collaborate with Employment and HR Business Partners to address needs related to job descriptions, position creation, and reorganizations.
  • Provide training on position description writing and compliance to stakeholders.
  • Complete job and position changes in SAP and the online position description system.

Customer Service
  • Proactively engage with client groups to anticipate and address their needs.
  • Monitor University and industry goals, developing actionable recommendations to support client objectives.
  • Serve as a liaison across HR departments to facilitate comprehensive customer service.
  • Expand professional knowledge of University policies, systems, and procedures through ongoing training.


Organizational Improvement

  • Conduct environmental analyses of work functions to identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate on the implementation and evaluation of organizational improvements.
  • Partner with leadership to enhance HR functions and organizational effectiveness.
  • Proactively expand procedural knowledge and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations as well as University policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with clients to align HR practices with all applicable rules and guidelines.

Special Projects and Other Duties
  • Support ad hoc and planned market surveys, analysis, and implementation.
  • Assist with any compensation functions to meet departmental and customer needs.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned.
