Donation Program Coordinator - Provo/Salt Lake City

DonorConnect is seeking a full-time Donation Program Coordinator. This position would be perfect for those who understand the healthcare space, and are interested in fostering and developing relationships with hospital staff to help increase organ and tissue donation. If you have great attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and love to communicate and collaborate, apply now!

We are looking for two Donation Program Coordinators. One for Utah Valley in Provo AND for Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City. The DPC at Primary Children Hospital should have pediatric experience.

DonorConnect is a federally designated nonprofit community service organization dedicated to the recovery of organs and tissues to be used for life-saving transplants. Our employees help save and heal lives!

The Donation Program Coordinator (DPC) is responsible for developing and maintaining strong working relationships with assigned hospital partners at all levels of the organization. You will work with assigned hospitals to determine client needs, build a knowledge base, and develop strategies or action plans to maximize donations. You will be vital in coordinating and executing general education activities, such as conducting professional education presentations, assisting with developing education materials, leading the Donor Council, and facilitating donation performance improvement plans. You will assume responsibility for identifying patients in the critical care units who have met clinical triggers and necessitate a referral. You will also help educate and support hospital staff so they can independently identify patients who meet these clinical triggers. Additionally, you will collaborate with the administrator on call to evaluate potential organ donors, using objective clinical information to preserve the option of organ donation. Finally, the DPC will communicate sensitively with internal teams and patient families to obtain authorization for donation and an accurate medical/social history.
