Education Faculty Member
Under the direction of the Dean of Health Sciences, Education, Culinary Arts & Human Services (HECH), the candidate for the position of Full Time Faculty member in the Education Department will teach a variety of Education courses and provide support for Education programs and the Education Department through student advisement, participation in Education Department efforts, and current knowledge of trends and developments in the field. Course assignments will include some nights, weekends, remote instruction, and might include special department projects.
The work of the Education Department at Holyoke Community College is grounded in the commitment to progress toward a more inclusive and equitable society as we collaborate with and learn from children, adolescents, schools, and community partners in diverse settings.- Teach a variety of Education courses.
- Advise students.
- Assist in the development of Education curriculum and programs.
- Participate in Department programs and activities.
- Assist in performance assessment for students in Education programs.
- Participate in College programs, governance committees, and activities.
REQUIRED:
- Master’s degree in Education;
- Massachusetts DESE teacher professional licensure;
- Five years as the lead classroom teacher in a public school setting at the elementary or secondary level (grades PK-12);
- Ability to teach nights, weekends, and online as a part of full time contract;
- Leadership in curriculum and instruction;
- Experience with special education;
- Familiarity with Massachusetts EEC and DESE regulations, policies, procedures, and current trends;
- Demonstrated excellent teaching skills including using interactive and varied pedagogical strategies;
- Effective communication skills;
- Commitment to teaching a student body diverse in abilities, age, ethnicity, race, and sexual orientation;
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student body.
PREFERRED:
- Community college teaching experience;
- Demonstrated leadership in the field and experience in assessment;
- Bilingual (Spanish/English);
- Advanced degree.

Full-time, tenure-track MCCC/MTA position
Salary: Minimum $54,820-$64,159 (subject to salary increase effective January 1, 2025). Actual salary will be commensurate with education and experience in accordance with MCCC/MTA Collective Bargaining Agreement. Full State benefits.Funding: State
