Job Summary
The Health Education Coordinator will serve as part of the multidisciplinary HIV care team to provide intensive prevention services for patients identified as high risk in order to provide education, promote safer risk behaviors, and contribute to the Bluegrass Care Clinic’s mission of providing quality services to over 1,800 HIV positive patients living in Central and Eastern Kentucky.
This position will be primarily responsible for providing targeted rapid HIV testing and counseling for persons presenting at BCC unaware of their status, providing health education and risk reduction counseling for persons who are at high-risk for contracting or transmitting HIV and other STIs, and assisting with community outreach and supply distribution as appropriate.
Experience working with those living with HIV or other vulnerable populations or bilingual in Spanish is preferred. This job is not currently eligible for remote work at this time.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
MS Windows, Excel, Access (or other database experience), Outlook. Written/oral communication, planning/organizing, continuous improvement, medical knowledge, teaching skill, collaboration, attention to detail, basic statistics, quantitative analysis, and computer skills.

Preferred Education/Experience
Master’s degree in Health Education, Social Work, Social Services, Public Health, Epidemiology, Criminal Justice, or Human Development. Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
