LOCATION: T.O. VinsonHealth Center
DIVISION/DEPARTMENT: Clinical Services
SALARY INFORMATION:  $27.00 Hourly / Job Code T1001 / Pay Grade TPW

Job Responsibilities

Under general supervision, promotes, maintains, and improves individual and community health by assisting individuals and communities to adopt healthy behaviors. Collect and analyze data to identify community needs prior to planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating programs designed to encourage healthy lifestyles, policies and environments. Collaborates with health specialists and civic groups to ascertain community health needs, determine availability of services, and to develop goals. Conduct community surveys to ascertain health needs, PrEP awareness events, develop desirable health goals, and determine availability of professional health services. Develops and maintains cooperation between public, civic, professional, and voluntary agencies. Plans and provides educational opportunities for health personnel. Prepares and disseminates educational and informational materials. Promotes health discussions in schools, industry, and community agencies. Provides information to the public regarding health concerns and resources.


Minimum Qualifications

Master’s degree in Public Health Education from an accredited college or university 
OR
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social, Behavioral or Biological Sciences or a directly related field from an accredited college or university AND One year of experience in public health education.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: In addition to the minimum qualifications, preference will be given to applicants with a strong knowledge of HIV/AIDS/PrEP and a strong understanding of the National HIV Strategy and barriers to care.  Also, must demonstrate the ability to present to large and/or small groups.
