This is an opportunity to join the Digital Banking Platform team within American Express. As a Product Manager, you will be part of a hard-working and fun team that develops and delivers next-generation capabilities for banking products and benefits to our customers.

The Product Manager in the Enterprise Platform - Digital Banking team is responsible for the development and deployment of capabilities and features enabling regulatory compliance and for the support of audits and exams. The successful individual ensures that the Product meets the evolving needs of the enterprise policies and regulatory standards. Requires strong organizational, technical, and creative problem-solving skills. Requires strong organizational, documentation, analytical, collaborative, and problem-solving skills. Must work well in a dynamic, complex environment and under deadline pressures. Partners with other product managers in order to convert the regulatory roadmap into a release cycle and coordinates the efforts of engineering’s teams within a SAFE train to deploy the new features across markets and products.

The Product Manager will report and assist the Director Product Management. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of American Express business and operating models, platforms, products, and services, understand the key risk and regulatory areas and identify due diligence regulatory controls across the core digital banking ecosystem.

 Responsibilities:

  • Define product outcomes with clear metrics and targets for the product segment, in line with the high-level product portfolio vision and strategy and company, organizational outcomes
  • Work with key partners and colleagues to implement a product and regulatory roadmap aligned with the platform vision
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand the processes, risks, controls, and regulatory domain
  • Adapt quickly to a fast-paced ecosystem and regulatory changes, validate action plans, identify gaps, and document results
  • Translate product roadmap into a product backlog of well-defined epics and features with appropriate acceptance criteria
  • Prioritize backlog with stakeholders, help make difficult tradeoffs, remove roadblocks, and track performance and delivery
  • Manage and support multiple processes in a high-pressured environment
  • Identify risks and challenges to deliver on timelines and move quickly with dependent teams
  • Communicate with stakeholders and facilitate resolution of risks, issues, and changes tied to the product backlog
  • Interact with stakeholders to identify needs, opportunities, and gaps, and solve problems.
  • Enable effective assessment of controls and ensure audit readiness
  • Maintain necessary documentation and records to assure efficient and consistent regulatory compliance efforts
  • Act as an audit coordinator and support audit/exam inquiries by collaborating with SME’s and providing materials 
  • Manage PRSA Controls, Exceptions and other initiatives impacting Digital Banking Platform - Data and Reporting team
  • Agile mindset and transformation champion
  • Understand and apply new trends and market standard methodologies into product roadmap and requirements
  • Communicate and build consensus across multiple departments in crafting the product roadmap which delivers customer value and makes appropriate trade-offs with schedule and capacity usage
  • Facilitate partnership and alignment between teams including engagement, design, analytics, engineering

Skills and Qualifications: 

  • Significant experience in Product Management with proven track record in defining winning product constructs and delivering a product roadmap
  • Significant experience in Project Management with proven track record to manage project plans, meeting key milestone dates, and delivering overall plan 
  • Strategic, big picture thinking with strong business acumen and high degree of creativity in identifying opportunities for products, services, new processes, and systems
  • Financial services industry experience and an understanding of related products, services, features, economics, and key regulations
  • Strong experience maintaining a compliant product and effectively integrate compliance requirements into business, operational, technological, data, and financial components
  • Knowledge and experience in the application of regulatory practices in a digital banking environment
  • Understanding of evolving banking, data privacy, accounting, and financial compliance and regulatory requirements and environment
  • Good balance of technical knowledge and business acumen and experience working with third parties
  • Ability to break down a complex problem into components, and provide recommendations with transparency and integrity
  • An established background in launching software or services in partnership with engineering teams and high degree of proficiency in prototyping, iterative development, Scaled Agile Framework, and principles
  • Must know how to write capabilities, features, and stories with acceptance criteria
  • Proven ability to adjust quickly to shifting priorities and multiple demands
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage, influence, and inspire partners to drive collaboration and alignment
  • High degree of organization, individual initiative, and personal accountability
  • An ability to solve complex problems and a highly analytical approach
  • Agile certifications and/or PMP Certification a plus
  • BS, or equivalent degree in Business, Computer science, Information Technology related field

Salary Range: $90,000.00 to $165,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
