Physical Requirements
The physical requirements of this position include: Occasional lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects up to 25lbs; regularly standing or walking with objects 10-25lbs; regularly sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time with regular repetitive motions (such as typing); utilizing mouse, keyboard, and phone for portions of the day. Ability to travel to various locations on and off-campus for meetings.

Primarily days (i.e. Monday – Friday, 8a-5p, 40+ hours per week) Please be aware that as an exempt position, job duties may occasionally require additional time in the evenings, nights, holidays and/or weekends to accomplish work goals in excess of 40hours per week. Required to participate in the after-hours and Holiday on-call rotation with other network staff
Job Summary
This position is responsible for senior level maintenance, support and automation of networking and infrastructure systems managed by University of Kentucky, Information Technology Services, Networking and Infrastructure. This includes systems network devices, security devices, collaboration endpoints and systems and all supporting systems including but not limited to DNS, DHCP, AAA, NAC, VMWare, monitoring systems and logging systems. This position supports functions critical to the operation of the University.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Have a working knowledge of enterprise DHCP, DNS, and IPAM systems. Knowledge of common protocols such as SNMP, HTTP, HTTPS, SMTP, NTP, LDAP, KERBEROS, RADIUS and FTP. Configure and support VPNs and enterprise network security devices.
