Northwest Field Team Engagement & Advocacy Coordinator
Reporting to the Northwest Field Team Program Manager, the Engagement & Advocacy Coordinator is responsible for mobilizing Hire Heroes USA's local volunteers and program alumni as advocates for the organization's mission across Washington and Oregon (Pacific Northwest). The Coordinator will plan community events and create opportunities for supporters to advocate for Hire Heroes USA while overseeing local advisory boards and connecting resources as well as orchestrate and participate in collaborative events, workshops, and roundtables that bring together coalition members, potential employers, and job seekers. The Coordinator will facilitate knowledge sharing, resource alignment, and the development of innovative strategies to address regional veteran employment challenges across the Pacific Northwest.
This is a full-time, hybrid position. The Engagement and Advocacy Coordinator must live within a reasonable commuting distance of our Federal Way, Washington area office and be on-site regularly.
Responsibilities
Advocacy & Engagement
- Represent Hire Heroes USA at high-profile community events, job fairs, and conferences, articulating the organization's mission, impact, and value proposition to diverse audiences throughout Washington and Oregon
- Establish and oversee local advisory boards, facilitating regular meetings and driving initiatives that address region-specific veteran and military spouse employment challenges and opportunities
- Develop and manage a comprehensive database of regional contacts, events, and opportunities, ensuring efficient and accurate information sharing and relationship management across the organization
- Develop and implement a comprehensive market segmentation strategy, collaborating with the Program Manager to identify and target key demographics, industries, and geographic areas to maximize the team's efficiency and impact
Community Engagement
- Foster and strengthen a military community coalition in the Pacific Northwest by cultivating relationships with diverse stakeholders, including veteran service organizations, military installations, local government agencies, and community leaders, to create a comprehensive support network for veteran and military spouse employment initiatives
- Spearhead innovative strategies to transform local volunteers and program alumni into dynamic advocates, amplifying Hire Heroes USA's mission across the Pacific Northwest
- Design and execute a diverse calendar of community events, including job fairs, workshops, and networking mixers, that showcase veteran and military spouse talents while connecting them with premier employment opportunities in the Pacific Northwest
- Create and coordinate comprehensive event support strategies, including custom staffing plans, volunteer recruitment in partnership with the Volunteer Program, event-specific procedures, and targeted training programs—all tailored to each unique event
- Collaborate closely with internal teams (Marketing & Communications, Program Operations, Capacity Building, Corporate Giving, Employer Partnerships and Client Services) to ensure cohesive brand messaging, optimize resource allocation, and amplify the organization's impact across all touchpoints in the Pacific Northwest
- Streamline handoff of potential volunteers to the Volunteer Program, ensuring smooth transition and continuity in relationship development
- Drive strategic alignment through regular collaboration with Capacity Building teams, spearheading discussions on networking, outreach, and partner management to ensure cohesive, impactful volunteer and partner activities
- Ensure consistent and accurate tracking of contact and activity data within existing platforms and systems
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement that values learning and commitment to quality
- Support organization events and fundraisers as needed
- Approximate travel requirement 30%

- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, while productively and collaboratively engaging others at varying levels of seniority within and outside an organization

- Ability to monitor and assess the performance of self, other individuals, and organizations to make improvements and take corrective action
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and multiple projects and initiatives
- Ability to compile and present public briefings to senior leaders
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and G-Suite applications, specifically Word/Docs, PowerPoint/Slides, and Excel/Sheets
- Proficient with Salesforce highly desired

Hire Heroes USA may offer additional compensation to include annual bonuses, merit increases, cost of living, special or extra assignments outside the scope of the role, cell phone stipend, internet stipend, relocation, awards, compensatory time off, overtime, and gaining knowledge and proficiency through certifications and licensing.
Estimated New Hire Salary: $51,462.50 - $57,963.45 annually. This range represents base pay plus a +15% cost of living adjustment.

Salary range
- $51,462 - $57,963 per year
