Job Summary

Description of Position
Dr. Sylvia Mendez in the Department of Educational Leadership Studies in the College of Education is offering a full-time Research Assistant (RA) position from February 1, 2025-December 31, 2025. The RA will support a qualitative social science research project focused on enhancing the training environment of postdoctoral scholars. Work entails preparation of literature reviews; data collection, analysis, and visualization; developing manuscripts for peer-reviewed presentations and publications; and other research tasks as assigned. Preference will be given to doctoral students, students who have completed advanced qualitative research methods courses, and students with qualitative research work experience. It is expected that the RA will work approximately 20 hours/week. The position can be completed remotely, but travel to one professional research conference is available. Dates may change.



Compensation
The total stipend for this appointment is $25,600, with payments spread over 11 months from approximately February 1, 2025 to December 31, 2025. This assistantship includes full-time tuition for up to 9 credit hours per semester in the fall and spring sessions, but no tuition support is provided during the summer session. In addition to the tuition benefit, the RA will be provided with basic university student health insurance (individual only). Additional student fees charged by the university are not included. The position is available through 2025 with the potential of a six-month renewal pending available funding, match of RA skills to future project needs, and evidence of research initiative. Dates may change.
