We are looking for an experienced Water Resources Engineer to join our team in Central Illinois. This will be a key role as we expand our Water Resources team and service line in the Central Illinois region. Lochmueller Group is a regional engineering consulting firm with an emphasis on infrastructure. We provide multi-disciplined services for a variety of public agencies and private entities, including transportation design; water resources design; environmental analysis & permitting; construction engineering & inspection; traffic engineering & transportation planning; surveying; and land acquisition & appraisal. In this position the candidate will:

  • Work with discipline and regional leadership to grow the Water Resources team and service line in the Central Illinois region. 
  • Lead and mentor junior-level engineers and other team members to aid in their development
  • Maintain and enhance relationships with clients, building new opportunities for business development
  • Serve as a project manager with responsibility for wastewater, drinking water, and storm water projects
  • Apply knowledge acquired through progressive experience to resolve crucial issues and/or unique conditions
  • Serve as a technical specialist for the organization in the application of advanced concepts, principles, and methods
  • Review operational practices to ensure compliance with applicable policies and performance measures

Qualifications for this role:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE)
  • 12+ years of experience in this discipline
  • Extensive experience managing and designing wastewater, drinking water, and/or stormwater projects 
  • Experience with project management and accounting software
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work individually or as part of a team
