Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Technology Transfer agent to work in our Commercial Partnerships and Tech Transitions department. Our team works a 9x80 schedule located onsite in Idaho Falls, Idaho with every other Friday off. You will report to the Director of the department. This is a 2 year project hire position.

You will provide professional support to others at INL that are engaged in business intelligence, asset management, accomplishing INL's technology transfer mission.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Perform assessments and reviews of technology business landscapes for Principal Investigators (PI) including prior art and business intelligence for new partner identification using commercially available software tools, such as PatSnap, Innography, USPTO, Frost & Sullivan.
  • Collaborate with Technology Deployment (TD) Commercialization Managers to establish strategic relationships with external customers, INL management, DOE Office of Technology Transitions Programs.
  • Help with innovation and commercialization programs, and technical staff to support INL’s broad technology deployment mission.
  • Provide intellectual property management expertise, including patents, copyrights. Evaluate and protect intellectual property through assessments, prior art searches, and competitive landscape analysis.
  • Assist Commercialization Managers on the development of licensing agreements, from negotiation through implementation.
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote INL technologies across various industries. This includes creating marketing materials and presenting technical concepts to non-technical partners.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements: 

  • Level 1: Bachelor’s and 0 years of experience.
  • Level 2: Bachelor’s and 2 years of experience. Master’s and 0 years of experience. PhD and 0 years experience
  • Related experience may include
    • Prior work and comprehension skills in science and technology
    • Prior experience as a patent agent/patent engineering
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "L" clearance, which requires US Citizenship. 


Job Information: 

  • The pay range for this position is: Level 1 ($56,196 min - $109,644 max) / Level 2 ($65,064 min - $133,416 max). At Idaho National Laboratory compensation decisions are determined using factors such as education, relevant experience, and other credentials.
