Implements policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable laws, University policies and regulations. Assists in development of new standards of practice for Project Management activities within the Department of Planning and Construction. Construction Intern

<h4>Overview</h4>The Project Manager is responsible for coordinating with the appropriate stakeholders in order to achieve a project’s success.&nbsp; This may include the coordination of supplies, materials, and labor needed to provide a successful installation of equipment. The Project Manager will manage and serve as a mentor for Project Engineers who will provide project support.<h4>Responsibilities</h4><ul><li>Coordinate with contractors/owners/customers to provide field coordination, including rough-in inspections and measurements.</li><li>Reviewing equipment releases, approve shop drawings for custom/fabrication items, purchase orders, color selections, and utility information to release equipment timely, accurately, and within budget</li><li>Manage change orders by providing change proposals, RFI's and review bulletins for any required changes to equipment; Coordinate changes in the field with contractor and other impacted trades</li><li>Communicate with project team, internal and external</li><li>Support estimating and sales efforts for new projects; Provide pre-bid inspections, project meetings, scope reviews, and site inspections.</li><li>Attend corporate events, internal meetings, conferences, and training as required.&nbsp; This may include NAFEM, NRA, AND NexGen Training</li><li>Coordinate waranty calls and installation issues after turn-over of project for warranty period.</li><li>Review and support project billings</li><li>Manage, oversee, and train Project Engineers.</li></ul><h4>Ideal Candidate Will Possess the Following Skills and Abilities</h4><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree required. </li><li>Minimum of 3 years of project management field experience required.&nbsp; </li><li>Experience with construction/industrial projects strongly preferred.&nbsp; </li><li>Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects at various stages concurrently.&nbsp; </li><li>Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple resources and coordinate people and schedules.&nbsp; </li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.&nbsp; </li><li>Strong math skills required. </li><li>High proficiency with Microsoft Office required.&nbsp; </li><li>Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative environment.&nbsp; </li><li>Must be able to manage competing priorities and deadlines.&nbsp; </li><li>Must be pro-active and results-oriented, and take ownership of work responsibilities and projects.&nbsp; </li><li>Extremely detail-oriented and thorough.&nbsp; </li><li>Strong ability to perform complex tasks with minimal supervision. </li><li>Must be able to work both independently and within a team.&nbsp; </li></ul>This position is frequently required to sit, hear, use close and peripheral vision as well as depth perception.
