Job Summary
The Coordinator of Student Life and Engagement is responsible for assisting with leadership and engagement through the ongoing development, promotion, and assistance of programs that promote student advocacy and success, enhance the collegiate experience outside of the classroom, and engage students with the College and community. The Coordinator of Student Life and Engagement reports to the Director of Student Life and Engagement.
Job Duties
· Assist in planning and implementing all Student Life activities and programs.
· Lead the redesign, implementation, and ongoing initiatives of the Council for Leadership, Advocacy, and Student Success (CLASS).
· Provide oversight of the Esports Program: managing staff, assist with purchasing, contract and league renewals and events.
· Support the evaluation, development, planning, and implementation of intramural athletic activities.
· Aid the Director in the oversight of initiatives and supervision of the Bear Engagement Leadership Program (BELs).
· Serve as Co-advisor for both CLASS and BELs.
· Plan and coordinate ongoing co-curricular programming and College-wide events.
· Coordinate student-related travel arrangements, adhering to College policies and procedures.
· Assist with on-ground New Student Orientation program at each campus.
· Develop and support the creation of an Online New Student Orientation for online students and those unable to attend on-ground orientation.
· Support the development and growth of student organizations, including but not limited to recruiting campus advisors for clubs and organizations, promoting awareness of campus events, and recruiting student participation in student clubs and organizations.
· Contribute to the development and publication of student life-related materials.
· Assist with annual training for student organization advisors and offer guidance and oversight throughout the year.
· Complete other assignments as directed by supervision.
Minimum Qualifications
· Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution · One year of experience in an educational institution working with student affairs or student leadership programs, event planning, volunteer management, athletics administration, communications, or customer service
Preferred Qualifications
· Master’s degree from an accredited institution · Three years of experience managing student governance, student activities programs, new student programs, or leadership programs · Experience organizing campus activities or large campus events for student life
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships · Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely through the effective use of English · Knowledge and use of organizational and management skills · Technology Skills: MS Office suite; videoconferencing software; digital records management systems; general operating systems and data information systems · Understanding of the community college mission · Understanding of the role student engagement and activities play in student success and retention · Compassion for others

Are you ready to take on the challenge to help us build the future?<h4>Responsibilities</h4><ul><li>Manages activities of one or more large, mid to long-term projects with responsibility for results in terms of costs, methods and outcomes</li><li>Develops business plans, objectives and initiatives for the organization</li><li>Provides inputs to organizational objectives and policies and ensures delivery of results</li><li>Engages regularly with senior management as a key consultant on critical business issues</li><li>Manages and executes HR projects, collaborates with cross-functional HR teams and sets tactical and strategic priorities</li><li>Takes a lead role in implementing change management strategies for HR projects, and creates communication plans and materials to engage and inform employees and stakeholders</li><li>Implements benefits realization, satisfaction surveys, and metrics tracking to quantify HR project ROI and value delivery</li><li>Implements project management reporting tools, progress dashboards, and methodologies to gain visibility into HR project health and status</li><li>Works closely with third-party vendors to ensure contract terms and conditions are being met as well as managing the project schedule</li><li>A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.</li></ul><h4>Minimum Qualifications</h4><ul><li>Ten or more years of experience in human resources project management.</li><li>Experience managing large, complex projects impacting HR strategy and business objectives.</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications<ul><li>Advanced certifications such as Certified Scrum Professional (CSP) or Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP).</li><li>Experience with scaling Agile frameworks (e.g., SAFe).</li><li>Background in software development or technical project management.</li><li>Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.</li><li>Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools.</li><li>8 to 10 years of experience as a Scrum Master or in a similar role.</li><li>Strong understanding of Agile principles and practices and experience in facilitating Scrum ceremonies and coaching teams</li><li>Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.</li><li>Extensive experience with Agile project management tools, specifically Jira and Octane.</li><li>Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent certification.</li></ul>Additional Information <ul><li>This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.&nbsp; Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California.&nbsp; Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.
