Job Summary
The Executive Director of Off Campus Instructional Sites (OCIS) is a full-time, fiscal year position reporting to the Dean of Academic Support and Operations. The Executive Director provides leadership, management, planning, and advocacy for all off-campus instructional sites. This position ensures that the OCIS are in compliance with SACSCOC standards, the college, TBR, and THEC policies. The Executive Director of OCIS will collaborate with other college offices to use institutional data to develop and implement strategies to increase OCIS enrollments and dual enrollment/dual credit offerings, especially in Fayette County, Millington, and Frayser communities. Additionally, the Executive Director will partner with campus offices to foster relationships with municipal partners such as chambers of commerce, k-12 school districts, and other community organizations. These relationships are intended to increase the College’s presence and meet the needs of municipal areas, especially in Fayette County, Millington, and Frayser.
Job Duties
<ul>
<li>Leads OCIS strategic planning initiatives.</li>
<li>Ensures OCIS programs are consistent with the mission of Southwest and that activation, assessment, and deactivation of OCIS offerings are done in accordance with college policy.</li>
<li>Tracks and analyzes student enrollment, retention, and performance data; uses data to make informed decisions regarding academic programs and resource management.</li>
<li>Ensures adherence to SACSCOC Standard 14.3 (Comprehensive Institutional Reviews) which outlines the expectations for on-campus instruction to apply to programs offered through OCIS.</li>
<li>Ensures selection of programs to be offered at an OCIS is the purview of the appropriate academic division which is expected to provide necessary and sufficient oversight of the program to ensure the currency of the program, its courses, and resources.</li>
<li>Ensures each OCIS program results in learning outcomes appropriate to the rigor and breadth of the credential awarded. Each program offered through OCIS has procedures in place to collect and review identified student learning outcomes and to identify program improvements based on the data collected.</li>
<li>Commits to supporting implemented programs for a period sufficient to enable admitted students to complete the program (as long as financially feasible).</li>
<li>Ensures that all OCIS students have access to relevant library resources to support the courses in which they are enrolled and provides access to library support services that closely approximates that offered to on-campus students as outlined in SACSCOC standards 11.1 (Library and Learning/Information Resources) and 11.3 (Library and Learning /Information Access).</li>
<li>Ensures that all OCIS students have access to the range of academic and student support services necessary to support their successful completion of an OCIS course or program as outlined in SACSCOC standard 12.1 (Student Support Services)</li>
<li>Collaborates with the Center for Teaching and Learning Excellence to provide faculty development opportunities and support specifically related to the effective delivery and evaluation of OCIS courses and programs.</li>
<li>Deploys appropriate academic technologies for distance learning and addresses security, privacy and accessibility as outlined in SACSCOC standards 10.6 (Distance and correspondence education) and SACSCOC standard 13.8 (Institutional Environment).</li>
<li>Works closely with the Institution Accreditation Liaison to ensure Center and Site compliance with SACSCOC standard 14.2 (Substantive Change).</li>
<li>Ensures the appropriateness and sufficiency of physical resources at OCIS as outlined in SACSCOC standard 13.7 (Physical Resources).</li>
<li>Responsible for the hiring, supervision, evaluation, and supervision of off Campus Directors.</li>
<li>Supervises staff which includes prioritizing and assigning work; conducting performance evaluations; ensuring staff is trained; ensuring employees follow policies and procedures; maintaining a healthy and safe working environment; and providing hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations.</li>
<li>Collaborates with other college offices to ensure dual enrollment offerings are effective.</li>
<li>Serves on division and College wide committees. Develops and monitors division’s budgets including grants.</li>

Sharp Global Peacemaker Award, including organizing the selection committee and nominating process. &nbsp; •&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Oversee the announcement of the Michael J. Sharp Global Peacemaker Award, including coordinating communication&nbsp; •&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Oversee office sign-ons to UN statements.&nbsp; Engage in advocacy work at the UN based on priorities determined in collaboration with International Program Department - 40%&nbsp; •&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Active involvement in key UN working groups, including the Israel/Palestine Working Group, the NGO Working Group on Korea, and the NGO Working Group/Security Council. &nbsp; •&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Engage with UN NGO working groups for priority areas to develop campaigns on specific issues before the UN, build coalitions with colleagues among the NGOs, prepare briefing papers and organize meetings and briefings.&nbsp; •&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Maintain regular contact with MCC’s International Program staff, especially Area Directors and Country Representatives relevant to UN office’s priority issues, to develop MCC's approach or positions on a given issue. •&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Develop relationships with key UN staff and Member State staff for priority areas: connect regularly, provide resources from MCC’s experience and contacts.&nbsp; •&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Host MCC workers and partners to serve as resource persons to UN community: set up briefing meetings and office visits.&nbsp; •&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Give special attention to building relationships with diplomats from countries where MCC has program beyond the U.S. and Canada.&nbsp; •&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Make at least one trip each year to visit an IPD program or area to connect with program work and gain background for advocacy.&nbsp; Report on MCC’s work at the UN to International Program and speaking and writing for MCC constituency, and to key audiences beyond - 25%.&nbsp; •&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Communicate relevant UN activities and priorities to MCC departments and colleagues, including: MCC Advocacy Network Gatherings, General and Leadership Orientation (for orientation on Advocacy), Annual Board meetings upon request, occasional additional relevant Executive Committee or International Program leadership meetings. •&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Explore collaboration with Mennonite World Conference, including IVEP/intern placement and student seminar. •&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Oversees the publication of Global Briefing, quarterly newsletter from the UN office. &nbsp; •&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Write occasional columns in both Mennonite publications and beyond&nbsp; •&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Write occasional reports, articles and other media for Communications Department for a variety of publications.&nbsp; •&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Oversee MCC UN Office web page, which will be maintained by the designated office communications coordinator.&nbsp; •&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Read, analyze and write about issues critical to the office's work.&nbsp; •&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Build and cultivate connections between MCC's UN Office and MCC's constituency, including Mennonite World Conference.&nbsp; •&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Reach out to constituency and other colleges and universities, and GSL (Global Service Learning) alumni globally, to cultivate participation in the UN Seminar and other events at the UN that would be of interest to constituents.&nbsp; •&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Host visitors and delegations (students, pastors, etc.) coming to New York, connecting them with NGO or mission offices or accrediting them to UN conferences depending on their interest •&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Make oneself available to preach or speak at constituent churches and schools to promote the work of MCC at the UN and beyond.&nbsp; •&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Policy Interpretation.&nbsp; Other duties as assigned on a temporary basis.&nbsp; Supervision: This position currently supervises one person.
